What should I expect at my first RE appointment?

I am sure this question has been asked here before, but I am too lazy to search.

Our first appointment is on Tuesday, Jan 13th.  I imagine she will go over our health and TTC history.

What questions should we ask her?

Re: What should I expect at my first RE appointment?

  • Mine was just conversational and I think she ordered blood work. It was kind of a let down. I remember wishing for a plan to be laid out... But it was just going over medical history
IUI - BFP! Baby boy born still - August 2012
    IVF - BFP - miscarriage June 2013
    FET - BFN
    FET - BFN
    Switched clinics
IVF with PGD - three embryos created, all healthy - July 2014
FET - transferred two embryos (boy and girl) - Nov 2014 - BFP!
    Baby Boy born July 2015

  • Same as ILRV, blood work and health history and schedule preliminary tests. Second appointment was discussing options and going over results.

You'll have a better feel for stuff after the first appointment and get a better idea of things you want to know.

The big questions are usually if they monitor Clomid/inject cycles, BMI requirements if it comes down to IVF and if the clinic uses Femera.

Also, you'll want to know how available people are to answer questions and how to reach the clinic off hours.
  • Thank you ladies.
