Pituitary tumor, PCOS and fertility?
Hello! This is my first time posting here. I feel like I read these blogs all the time, but can't find someone with the exact similar medical history, so thought I would just check and see.
I stopped getting my period back in April 2013- ( I know- ages ago now) and who knows how long before that because I had an IUD in. I went to my obgyn and was diagnosed with PCOS, tried regulating my period with birth control, still never came. Started fertility work and lots of drugs but nothing was helping me ovulate, finally got diagnosed with a pituitary tumor causing too much Human Growth Hormone and no period/ no ovulation. I just had it removed a week ago and it seems like it went pretty well! I am wondering if anyone had experienced similar problems and if so,
- did your diagnose of PCOS still stand?
- were you able to get pregnant on your own ?
- how long after surgery did you get your period?
I am so ready, I am a teacher and already feel like this whole process has taken so long to even begin to start trying, I am worried about waiting another year trying and am unsure if to just jump straight to fertility treatments.. Any advice or thoughts appreciated:)
