Background - this is my 2nd cousin's wife in NC. They have a 2 year old girl, and is pregnant with another girl. I saw on FB where she was selling her girl stuff a few months ago because she was convinced this was a boy... nope she's having a girl.
I get an event invite on FB for his baby shower, for her second daughter.... 2 years apart. I kind of rolled my eyes for those reasons, and because obviously I'm not going to drive to NC just for her shower. So it feels very gift grabby to me - "oh you're invited, can't come, just send a gift!"
She's the only one posting on the event not the "hostesses". Oh oh oh and there's a diaper raffle! "The bigger the box, the bigger the gift card!" She's registered at 3 places, so I snoop. 90 items, 75 items and 20. I didn't even register for that many things for my first kid! Included are 3 rnp, a swing, 2 high chairs, a daybed and pull ups. The last two I'm assuming for the first daughter.
Now, she posts on the event that some were concerned the party is on super bowl Sunday. She really didn't think this was a problem since it was earlier and she didn't think people needed ALL day to prepare for a stupid football game. But, the date is changed. PS don't forget the diaper raffle!!!
OMG I CAN'T ANYMORE.
Re: 2nd Baby Shower
The Rowdy Roberts
So Friday she posted on fb selling her high chair. I. Don't. Understand!
The Rowdy Roberts
I checked, no one got anything off her registries yet... not even the high chair which is why I thought she was selling her old one.
boy (n): a noise with dirt on it
This, please don't think I judge all second showers. This one wouldn't be so bad if 1. she wasn't throwing it herself 2. selling things so she can get new ones 3. offending guests just because she doesn't understand the awesome-ness football is (although I could care less of this super bowl) 4. having 3 registries with hundreds of items on it (it's expanded since I looked the first time), etc
Your name gets put into a raffle for a gift card. Looks like there are difference raffles, bigger the box of diapers, the bigger the gift card you could win.
