OK I think the time has come to invest in some good shoes. I wear heels to work most days, and I don't pay much for them - usually $40 or less. However, I have to walk across marble floors in the lobby each morning, and our break room has wipe-able laminate flooring. I know for a fact that a guy designed both, and probably did not think about the fact that most women walking across those floors are wearing heels with little traction. It's a hazard.
I totally wiped out in the break room this morning. My coffee cup went flying and hit the other wall, and I landed so hard I literally could not get up for a few minutes. I'm all bruised up. This is not the first time I've slipped and fallen. Last week I fell in that room twice and twisted the same ankle both times. I've reported it, but there's not much they can do other than tear out the floor and replace it.
Does anybody know of a brand of heels that have some traction/grip on the bottom but still look professional and not clunky? I really don't want to spend a fortune because I wear them out, but if it will save me from falling I will just bite the bullet on price.
