Blizzard!

Is anyone else getting hit by this big blizzard? We are predicted to get 15-30" of snow in CT from tonight into Wednesday AM....The worst is supposed to be Monday night into Tuesday mid-day but continue to late Tues PM/Wed AM. I hope we don't loose power and I hope H makes it home after his shift tonight at 10PM!

Re: Blizzard!

  • Yikes! Hope your power stays on!! Our winters here in Kansas City are strange: early in the month we were in the single digits, last week and this week it's likely we could hit 60 degrees.

  • I'm jealous!
  • Nope, we have highs in the 50's and 60's all week.

    I can't do snow.

  • Yup. I'm in Bristol County in MA, work in RI. It's already starting to snow. We are supposed to get hit with 15"-30" also. DH works nights at the shipyard in RI and he already told his boss (along with a bunch of other guys) that he is not working tonight.I'm planning on leaving sometime around 2ish/3ish depending on how fast the snow comes down. I need to pick up my youngest daughter since my oldest is at home sick with DH. My dad is getting the propane and gasoline for the grill and generators just in case. I'm just planning on cleaning tomorrow since the house is a disaster and I can't seem to find the time to clean it, then I'm planning on hanging out and playing games. I have a feeling I won't be back to work until Thursday/Friday...

  • I'm southwest of the Boston area and my localized area is supposed to see between 2-3 feet. :( I'm hoping I at least get 2 snow days out of this but it will probably be just one!

So weird right?!  Last year we had 13 polar vortexes :)  I'm hoping our Feb. is more like winter.  I actually love snow and a lot of it.  Wouldn't want 2 feet - but 1 foot would be nice.  DH thinks I'm crazy.

  • I am a jerk and in FL right now. I'm actually really worried about the house, though. We'll be getting around 2'. We're paying someone to shovel our sidewalk so it looks less abandoned, and I really hope it all works out ok.
  • Hello from Maine!

We are in the 18-24inch zone. I am willing to bet money we lose power and since we live where we work that means nowhere to keep warm. Also that mean we have 236 kids on campus without constant electronic access being asked to stay indoors. Tomorrow is going to suck.

  • I am in NJ, we are expecting 18-24 inches of snow.  Work closed early today, and we are closed tomorrow.  Now I wish I had some good snacks around the house...

    Be safe everyone.

  • Just got back to work today unfortunately haha but we REALLY got lucky and missed the heavy snow band so we got about 7-8" with no major snow drifts this time....but I'll never forget the blizzard 2 years ago where we got 32".....that just really blew my mind.

Anyway, 3 more snow storms coming up in the next week or so...ugg

  • I'm in NH and we ended up with 32".  I'm hoping the next couple storms end up being light.  The snow piles next to our driveway are already huge.
  • Anyone have pics to share of this snow storm?  It's going to be 75 here today, but the cold comes back and we may get some snow on sunday
