Checks

Where do you order your checks from?

Re: Checks

  • I ordered ours from Walmart.com.  Cheap, reliable, and very efficient.  I don't get anything fancy though.

  • The bank...

  • We get ours from the bank, but ours aren't free. We don't have any special design or anything and they were still $28. But we rarely have to write checks so that $28 lasts forever.

  • Artisticchecks.com (the cheapest ones they offer) Although I buy through them for the miles. Otherwise, I would probably just do it through the bank for convenience (which is within waking distance).

  • Checks.com or Vistaprint. Our bank is actually more expensive than other options. I often go for a cheesy design. I can't help myself.
  • Checks.com

We write checks for H to play hockey maybe three times a year. We have had the same box of checks for three years and it will last us a long time.

  • Got my latest ones from Vistaprint. It's significantly cheaper than our bank.
  • Ask the bank if you can get them for free.  They usually cave when I ask.

I don't know, I feel weird about entering my account number online.

  • I order through my bank. I also pay $28 for the package, but I only write checks for daycare (weekly basis) and DH's gym membership (once a month). A box lasts me almost a year, a year and a half.

  • Our bank also charges for checks.  I think last time I ordered like 250 of them from Current. we only write one or two checks a month, so they'll last a while.

  • My bank loves to nickel and dime us. We'll probably change to a different one, but right now I can't be bothered.

Vistaprint cost me $14 for 6 books of checks.
  • Ours are free from the bank, so we stick with those since we use so few.

I get mine at our bank for free.  They are the standard ones, but its a piece of paper that gets shredded at the end of the month, so why waste money.

I mail most of our bills, yes you read that correctly, so I go thru them quickly .  DH works for the USPS, I'm just supporting his salary.  He makes fun of me for it all the time, says my couple stamps a month will not save his job if it comes down to it.

  • USAA gives us free checks. I write maybe two checks a month. They also offer free bill pay..which if the company isn't in their system they'll just cut a check and mail it to them for free for me.

When I ordered them from walmart.com they didn't have me enter any of my information online. Instead they had a representative call me, and the e-mail gave me the phone number ahead of time so I would know what number I should be seeing.  I was very impressed with this, and didn't expect it.  Because of this, I will order from them again.

I get the free ones from our bank.  I refuse to pay extra for "pretty" checks when we do all of our bill paying/shopping online or with credit/debit cards.

This. We do pay preschool tuition, daycare, our water bill, and randoms with checks.
