    1.  How MM was your weekend?
Good!  We got our dog and made associated purchases (all budgeted for) and spent a little blow money on evening beers at home.  I also picked up a dive class and made $130, $100 of which will go towards debt.
    2.  Any progress towards your goals?

Well, we're very much on the same page that paying down H's car needs to be our only priority right now.  I've budgeted to be able to put around $900 towards it this week after we get paid, and H listed our redundant, but still in great condition, dryer on Craigslist.  I also cleared out our travel fund and will be putting all but $20 of what we had saved towards the loan ($20 just keep the account open).  It's a bummer, but must be done.

    3.  What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now?

If we weren't having catastrophic car issues and were able to locate one, I'm pretty sure I would sell my soul for a snow thrower right now.

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend? Ours was pretty bad.  FIL came to help us paint our back room, and while it was super nice we ended up spending a lot to host him.  Sigh.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?  Our back room remodel is almost complete!  Just the floors left!  It's coming along great, and we are loving it :)

    3.  What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now?  Sorry to my New England friends, but it's been spring weather here recently.  We hit 70 degrees this weekend.  So I would say I'm craving gardening supplies and/or a bike for H so we can get out and ride together in the nice weather.

  • 1 - Not bad.  We had dinner Friday night for $15 and rented a movie for $2.50.  Went to Dollar Store for vday cards and gifts on Saturday and spent $13.45 and spent $20.32 at the grocery store. Sunday we spent $10 for lunch and $38 at lowes and about $20 at target.

    2 - $50 in E Fund and $50 towards IRA

3 - I'm craving some landscaping in the front of our house with some pretty bricks and a couple new plants in it.  We already talked about it and it won't happen until the spring of 2016 :(  We are already spending money on painting the outside of the house this year.

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend? Not great, not terrible- Target ($91), Groceries ($200), new kitchen faucet (regret buying a cheaper one when we redid our kitchen- $200), new booster seat for DD#1 for DH's car ($200). It was a $200 per purchase weekend.  :)

    2.  Any progress towards your goals? $500 went to general savings and I started our taxes. Will try to finish them up tonight.

    3.  What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now? A heated driveway and sidewalk so DH didn't have to snow blow every day.. there's no where else to put the snow!

Good! About $6 on supplemental groceries for the weekend. We'll spend another $70ish tonight on groceries.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?
Another $850 on student loans. Slowly but surely!

    3.  What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now?
We rent, so this isn't realistic, but a double garage! I've got a carport but DH is completely exposed.
  • 1. Bad, but mostly budgeted. We bought our train tickets from Paris to London for our May trip, and a cheap hotel by the train station the night we get into London. Combined that was about $200. We still need to book nicer hotels for the days at beginning and end. We're looking at Apex Temple Court for London and I haven't even started to think about Paris. @hoffse‌, you went recently, right? Any suggestions? We like modern boutique and have a budget of $350 a night. London was surprisingly difficult, as everything seemed so frilly and formal.

    2. We got both our federal and state returns putting us at $6,000 for our bathroom reno. After starting to price everything out, we decided this investment required a professional, so we're meeting with a designer on March 7.

    3. A car wash. :) My car needs it, but I haven't bothered because I know it won't last long!

We went fairly cheap in London - we stayed at the Premier Inn Waterloo.  The good thing is it is crazy convenient to everything.  There are 5 tube lines within a 5 minute walk.  The bad thing is the rooms are small and budget, but clean and the beds were quite comfy.  It's not cute (reminded me of a purple Holiday Inn Express), but I mean, the exchange rate was killing us so it was fine.  I would absolutely do it again.  For London you really want to be near a tube hub.  I honestly think that's the most important thing.  The city is very spread out, and the tourist attractions aren't centralized in any one part of the city.  There also aren't that many lines that cross under the Thames, so I would suggest being near a hub with a tube line that does.  You will probably want to visit both sides of the river.  We absolutely loved our evenings on the South Bank.  Tons of great restaurants, street performers, fully pedestrianized for a couple miles, etc.

We haven't been to Paris yet, but we are visiting this summer.  We got a pretty good deal at the Hotel d'Orsay, which is in the 6th arr. on the Rue de Lille.  It looks cute and boutique (kind of a French rustic - exposed beams, etc).  It looks much more our style than where we stayed in London, and we are able to do something nicer this time since the Euro is still taking a nose-dive.  It's a block away from the Musee d'Orsay and just across the Seine from the Tuilleries/Louvre.  I'm sure the rooms are still tiny (aren't they all in Paris?), but I'll get over it for the location.

    Fri: $0, Sat: $80 (supplies/groceries) Sun: $14 (take out)

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?
Not really, other than the snow preventing us from spending more money even if we wanted to.

    3.  What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now?
Wow, where do I begin? A snow blower would be amazing right now! Or snow tires for our car...Or someone to remove the snow from our flat roof. Which we may need to do no matter what. This month has not treated us well in terms of weather, that's for sure.

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend?  Not too bad, went to a Home and Garden Show on Saturday $15 that was not cash.  Got fast food and items at Target another $35.  Was in under the grocery cash on hand by a few dollars.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?  Talked to people about getting quotes for replacing the roof and painting our outside.  MW doesn't want me to paint our house which is fine since we need parts of the outside repaired.  The first quote for paint was between 5k and 8k just based on description of the house ($1000 per day)

    3.  What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now?  A flame thrower to melt the ice.  The city hasn't decently plowed our dead-end street since we got snow a few weeks ago.

    1. How MM was your weekend? Not bad $40 for dinner out and $10 for lunch.

    2. Any progress towards your goals? I paid off my credit card with our tax return and stuck $3200 in savings! We've got about $2600 left to have a 3 month e-fund which I'm fine with since both H and I have stable jobs.

    3. What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now? A garage... I really hate cleaning off my car, especially when it's a sheet of ice on our parking pad and my car is covered in ice. Our next house will for sure have an attached garage.

    Edited to fix spelling error.
  • 1. $10 dessert for in-laws house, $21 Gas, $28 AAA re-newal for H

    2. We just made an extra $5,000 towards the mortgage principle

    3. Snowblower. Even though we live in a condo and only have the shovel in front of our garage and decks, I'm just so sore and tired of lifting this crap

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend?
Great! I only spent $52 out of budget only because I knew my tax return was coming in and DH and I agreed to "pay" ourselves $200 each as blow money. So I bought some work clothes. Everything else (groceries, beer, gas, and baby items) were within budget for the month.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?
We got one of our tax returns yesterday, so we paid off DH's credit card. I'm holding the remainder until the end of the month (in case of an emergency) and I just found out that RI tax return has been accepted. As soon as that one comes in, it's going straight into my last credit card owed! I can feel the financial freedom.

    3.  What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now?
I wish I could say a beach vacation. I'm very tired of the large amounts of snow we've gotten so far. And of course, there is another huge system coming our way. I'm hoping that it will go more south and we will just get the 5 inches instead of the blizzard.

Pretty good, I think it was just groceries.

    Any progress towards your goals?
    $400 into savings

What weather-related purchase are you most craving right now?
I'm in the Great Lakes region. I'm over winter. I don't normally complain until March/April but I'm so ready for spring. We already have all needed snow removal gear. Just pay my heat bill! Lol
