Help! Need your opinions.
So I finally heard back from Zirtual, the virtual assistant job. They want to do an interview which is the last step in the hiring process.
But I also just finished my I-9 paperwork for ETS yesterday. They will be getting me set up with training soon.
Do I pick one? Do both until I figure out which I like more?
Zirtual is full time and has full time benefits and vaca time. Huge pluses. ETS is a 5 month contract that cannot guarantee my shifts. I would sign up for the shifts I want and if they don't need me then I don't get paid.
Looking at it that way, Zirtual is the better pick. But I liked the flexibility with ETS. I could pick evenings and weeknds. Then still do stuff with Lily during the day like the library and the zoo.
What do you think? All honest opinions welcome. Questions welcome as well.
Re: Help! Need your opinions.
Silly question but: if you were to choose Zirtual, would you be able to get work done staying at home with Lilly? I imagine it would be difficult to do with a toddler, even though she is such a cutie = ). I only ask because I would factor in the possibility of part time child care, if you needed an extra hand. For me, that would be something else to consider.
01.21.2012---> I married a redhead I'm crazy about.
04.2016: IT'S A BOY! Elias Alan is due!
WDW trips: 05/14 (1st trip! Art of Animation; Little Mermaid), 05/15 (Pop Century!). DL Trips: 12/15
P and I just talked about it. We both agree there is no need for me to work full time. While the extra pay would be awesome, it's not needed. ETS will give me the opportunity to earn some money to build up our savings before having another kid. And that was the goal. And it's very flexible so I can do it when P is home to watch Lily.
Congrats again! I need a job like that. = )

I know money isn't everything. And honestly I have the opportunity to pick up enough shifts with ETS that I could work full time (as long as the shift wasn't cancelled). ETS pays more as well. I would just love to be able to build up our savings AND go on a vacation AND do some house upgrades. for a very brief minute this morning I was thinking of doing both jobs. Then I quickly remembered I have a full time job already named Lily. Haha
Does one pay more per hour than the other? That might make a difference. If you cAn get paid more with ets and work less it may balance out.
And I don't have to be in front of my computer my whole shift. Per this mom, she still takes breaks to play with her kid and do house cleaning. Some days would be busier than others. I just would need to be at home. Zoo trips would have to wait until the weekend.
All in all, I think Zirtual is doable. It's just that Lily and I are out of the house at least 3 mornings a week and some afternoons. When we are home we are busy painting, coloring, cleaning, ect. I'm more worried about keeping her busy while I work. That's also why I was considering half day preschool/daycare. But then my paycheck is mostly gone.
And P made a point that his boss wants him to do more training. So he is signing up but will potentially be gone for a week at a time in the coming months. So I would have no one to help with Lily. I could go stay with my mom and still do ETS. But Zirtual would be harder since I have no phone reception at her house.
