Re: Happy Friday!

  • I am reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and it is for WBC. I don't really have a favorite romance but I love Nora Roberts books.

  • I have about 50 pages left of Elizabeth I by Margaret George to finish up today.

I have also started The Fiery Cross (Outlander #5) by Diana Gabaldon.

These are books 15 & 16 for the year.
    90 books in 2015?

  • A couple of things i've read before. Nothing worth noting. I just got my audible credits so i'm going to pick up The Martian. I was also thinking about downloading the ruby circle to finish the bloodlines series but i'm not sure yet. I'm open to suggestion.

I can't narrow down my personal favorite romance novel. Most stuff by Nora Roberts.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • Pride and Prejudice, re-read number 1,872. It is definitely my favorite romantic novel.

  • I just started Still Alice last night.

I don't typically like romance novels. The closest I could get would be the Outlander books I suppose even though I think of them more as historical fiction.

  • I'm reading Affliction (Anita Blake #22).  I'm not really enjoying it.  It's way too long for what it is at 570 pages and again Anita annoys the shit out of me.  I just feel committed after 21 books. #16

I'm listening to Ruin and Rising.  It's a reread, but I love it.  #17

  • I am plodding through (Don't You) Forget About Me by Kate Karyus Quinn. It will be #14 for me. It is kind of dreary and at times confusing.

I don't think I can pick just one. Ones that come to mind are A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, and Anna and the French Kiss.

  • I am reading Hunted in the Iron Druid series. I like it. I think it is around 25 for the year.

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite romance. It is fantastic on audio.

  • I'm listening to Amy Poehler's Yes Please and it's perfection. Reading I'll Give You the Sun and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer as time allows. I've sucked at sticking with reading stuff this month. Lots going on I guess.

I'm still under 10 books for the year. Meh.

I don't know what my favorite romance would be. Would Daughter of Smoke and Bone count? It's all I can think of right now. I'm a romance baby.
  • I'm reading Yes, Please by Amy Poehler hoping to finish this weekend. I am about halfway through Push by Chalene Johnson for my book club, and just started Dear Daughter by Elizabeth Little.

  • I'm almost finished with Bad Feminist, still reading Compulsion, and reading a few of the short stories in Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman. I haven't had much reading time this week since I've been sick and drifting off in a Nyquil sleep haze after a few pages of my own book after I finish reading to the boys at night.

I'm also listening to Wool by Hugh Howey, and I was pretty blown away by the first story of the bunch. The second one was a little quieter and less suspenseful, but purposely so, and still great. I've just started the third part.

My favorite romances in a book:
Evie and Jack in the Arcana Chronicles
Zuzana and Mik in Night of Cake and Puppets
Lola and Cricket in Lola and the Boy Next Door
Karou and Akiva in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy
Blue and Gansey in the Raven Boys
    Katniss and Peeta 4ever

I guess I mostly like romances as a subplot in a bigger story rather than genre-romance. The love story can be a hopeful part of an otherwise bleak story.

  • I am reading 'The Witch Hunter's Tale' by Sam Thomas.  It is #10 for the year.

My favorite romance would have to be either Outlander or The Bronze Horseman.

I am reading The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson. Still towards the beginning, but I'm really enjoying it.

    #8 & #9 for the year.
