QOTD 2/17

Today is my first day back to work after having a nice relaxing 5 days off.  Wait let me rephrase that.  Today is my first day back to work after having scheduled a nice relaxing 5 days off but ended up on the couch with an annoying cold since last Thursday.  Some vacation.

Anyway in looking up my symptoms to make sure I didn't have the flu, I came across a statistic stating that the average adult get 2-4 colds per year.  How many do you think that you and DH get per year?

Re: QOTD 2/17

  • I normally get sick about once a year.  But, it's been twice a year for the last couple of years because of some cysts in my nose.  It's a sinus infection that is kicked with a steroid shot.  I'll keep getting that around October time frame until I go have surgery to get the cysts removed.

  • I usually get one major cold each year. Sometimes I will get a minor one too, but not very often.

I feel like we will all be getting sick more now with all the germs that will be coming home from daycare.

  • Sorry your week off wasn't what you expected :( I caught the flu this year and it SUCKED.

I probably get within the "normal" range.  DH I'm not sure, but probably around the same.

  • I'd say once or twice, which is surprising it's not more since I work in an elementary school where kids come sick ALL THE TIME. So when I do get sick, I'm a big baby and it's usually really bad.

  • I usually get one really bad cold lasting for a couple weeks. D almost never gets sick. He got the flu a couple years ago that just knocked him out.

  • I always get sick this week.  I also usually get a cold in October.  My colds always turn into sinus infections because I have terrible sinuses and allergies.  Thursday when I go for my allergy shots, I plan to see the doctor instead of the nurse and get an antibiotic, just in case.  Every now and then I'll get something else, but it's usually just October and February.  I wash my hands a ridiculous amount of times a day at work, thank goodness I have a sink in my classroom!

H usually gets sick right after Christmas.  It's the only time he gets sick each year.
  • Pre neti pot - everytime the seasons changed. So definitely 2-4. I can go all year without one now... Of course I got the flu then a cold last month

  • I feel like I get some sort of head cold/allergy combo once a month if not every other month. H has gotten blessed with some sort of crazy immune system where he only gets sick at most twice a year.
