Baby fever is back!

I've got hardcore baby fever - AGAIN! Logically I know the timing wouldn't be the greatest at ALL. My husband and I are getting ready to start building our house (once this damn snow melts!), my best friend is getting married at the end of May and I'm the maid of honor, yay! My husband's best friend is getting married and he's a groomsman. So all kinds of celebrations happening, building a house, trying to get our finances in order, I'm turning 25 (I know, I know, plenty of time to have a baby, my husband and I want to have our first kid before 27)...

Help me cure my baby fever!

Re: Baby fever is back!

  • Volunteer at a local school?  Daycare? Steal a small child from the park?

Unfortunately, nothing will cure a case of baby fever but to have a baby.   I found that playing on pinterest and planning for a baby helped to feel like I was doing something in relation to TTC, even when TTC wasn't working for us.

  • We almost stole the most perfect little redhead at a mall once, but we couldn't figure out how to get her across the border without a passport. So, if you're going to steal one from a park, do it locally.  :))

  • Work or volunteer at a daycare or as a nanny. It may not cure your baby fever but I guarantee you will enjoy your quiet house at the end of the day.

I volunteered in the NICU for a few years. Holding babies didn't cure baby fever, but I also didn't feel deprived.

  • I second (third?) the babysitting/nannying recommendation. I do it because I love it, but I do think it helped keep the baby fever at bay for a while, between getting to play with babies/kids and the frequent reminders of how much work they are.
