TGIF and Friday Gripe Day

Since it's finally Friday and it's so stinking cold in our area (-4* air temp, -25* with wind chill) I've added in the gripe portion to this post.

Of course my first gripe is that it's too damn cold out. And my dog loves the snow. So God forbid we go out quickly and come back in. No, we must run around and frolick in the freezing.

The second gripe gets me every morning. There is a hill along the interstate I take to work. You can see the hill for about 2 miles prior to approach yet these huge tractor trailers stay in the left lane and then bog up traffic because there is no way for them to maintain speed up said hill. It drives me bonkers.

Now on to the good stuff - weekend plans. DH returns in the morning after being gone since Tuesday. I cannot wait to pick him up from the airport. I'm exhausted from 5 days with a puppy and LO decided to make me super crampy so I've been semi-miserable and super tired and puppy just doesn't understand so she's been a nutball. I'm going to clean the house tonight and then figure out what we need from BRU and Target to use our registry completion coupons this weekend to finalize everything. If the weather breaks at all, I'm hoping to get the car seat bases installed. Also on the to do list is packing hospital bags but overall, I'm hoping for some major cuddle and DVR time. :) Big plans over here.

Re: TGIF and Friday Gripe Day

  • Happppy Friday!!!

Besides the fact that it is also freezing here I guess my gripe would be that I have to run errands all day in the freezing weather. I have a doctor appt, target run and food shopping to do. I will probably squeeze in a manicure and massage just because I deserve some spoiling.

My small gripe for the week though, staying home on early maternity leave is not nearly as exciting as I was hoping. I definitely thought I would be able to go outside more and walk instead I'm stuck inside cleaning all day every day.

This weekend I have probably my last prenatal yoga class depending on what my OB says today. I am hoping to help DH with some house work but the belly tends to get in the way. Other than that, lots of relaxing and snuggling.

  • I love that you ladies are getting so close!

DH gets back from his work trip today, so I'm looking forward to seeing him this evening! Then my mom and I are headed to see family around San Antonio tomorrow morning. That is about a 5 hour drive and we have to take the old pickup to bring a bed to my grandpa. I'm not looking forward to the drive in an uncomfortable truck with no Satellite radio. So there is my gripe. But I'm excited to see all my extended family!

  • We're going to dinner tonight and then taking my oldest stepdaughter to her dress rehearsal for the school talent show tomorrow night.

Tomorrow, the weather is pretty nice here, so we'll probably ride our bikes and take the kids to do something.  Then we have the talent show in the evening.

Sunday, I want to clean and do laundry.  I'm seriously nesting and I need to get the house spotless.  It's driving me crazy!

  • Happy Friday, ladies!

Besides the cold, I suppose my gripe is that DH is sick and I'm going to have to do all the cleaning, etc. this weekend. :(

Nothing in particular planned for the weekend. I need to buy some more maternity shirts and/or start doing laundry more often, because a lot of my shirts have stopped fitting me well. So I may go out shopping sometime this weekend. I am also flying to California on Thursday, so I have some things to do to get ready for that.
