Let's discuss!

Overall, I liked it. I would have liked it if she had a different name than Kate because I kept getting her and the world a little bit confused a bit with Kate Daniels.

That said, I thought it was an interesting fantasy take on a modern day world, where everything sort of comes with a price, and without the werewolf pack/vampire/fae elements to it (I suppose that can always change in the future).  It also made me a little jealousy of lefties! Kate's elderly neighbor was hilarious.

Do you plan on reading the next in the series?

Reminder, next month's read will be Kindling the Moon (Arcadia Bell #1) on March 31st!

  • I really, really liked it.  I've read all three of them now.  I liked the idea of of magic dirty and clean.  I think it kind of gave a supernatural element to something that we can all relate to a little.  Even if our world's drugs don't make you lucky or beautiful.

After the first book, I was very interested in seeing where the love interests would go.

Me too! I feel like she has really interesting options. Are there just three total? I think the world has so much potential.

  • I know it would be a slippery slope, and these probably fall in the dirty category, but how neat would it be to wake up and be able to take a potion to look fabulous or if you feel kind of fried at work to take one that would perk you up and help you concentrate?
