WIAR the girl with all the gifts (ns)

And I am just not liking it at all.

I think it is because it is dystopian /zombie(ish) in nature and I am just completely tired of the dystopian genre and never been a fan of zombie stories. So does this get better? Or based on what I said, should I just quit now? Because it will take a lot of effort for me to continue picking it up, but I will if it is worth it. I have finished through chapter 11.

  • IMO, you probably won't like it, if you don't like it now.

  • OK thanks. There were such rave reviews on here I had to ask before giving up.

I agree. I wasn't much of a fan of this book. It was so slow to get through because I never wanted to pick it up or really cared about what would happen next.

  • Yep.  I'm glad I finished, but more for the actual completing of it, not for the enjoyment.

  • I enjoyed this book, but agree that if you are not liking it already then I wouldn't bother finishing. There are too many great books out there to waste time reading something that aren't enjoying.

Completely agree, but some books can take a bit to get into and with all the rave reviews on here I thought I would see if that was a potential.

I think I am done with it though and on to a new book I go. Thanks ladies for the feedback.

  • I enjoyed the beginning and the end but the middle dragged for me. I agree with everyone that if you aren't enjoying it yet you probably won't.

Same here. I saw where the author was going with it but it dragged at points.

Yup, I agree. If you don't like the rest if you aren't feeling it at this point.

  • I've read half of it but haven't picked it up in over 2 weeks- I just have no desire.  I'm glad I'm not alone!

I didn't quite looooove it, but I enjoyed it well enough. I like the genre, though, so there's that. It was good, if you're into that sort of thing!

I like this response/ GIF better than any part of the book.
