NMMR: freezing temps and garden
I know this is a gardening question but this is the only real active board and I'm terrible at keeping plants alive. So the last couple days have been well below freezing and so I covered our butterfly bush and budding trees, today is warmer, then the next couple days are right at freezing or just above. Can I remove the coverings now or wait a bit longer?

Re: NMMR: freezing temps and garden
Depending on what you put on the plants to protect them. If you put buckets or bags over them, bascially anything that would prevent natural sun, rain & wind from getting to them during the day when it warms up, then I would remove the covering during the day. If you put fabric or newspaper over them, you should be okay leaving them covered.
