Capital 360--A good idea?
Hi all, I was reading through some of the threads and some of you ladies mentioned having a Capital 360 savings account. I did some research on it last night and I am very intrigued. But is the interest good enough to open up an account? How quickly would the money grow? I'm not good with math so this kind of stuff has always been tricky for me.
Right now, my FI and I have a joint checking and savings account at SunTrust. I think we would go ahead and keep that and just link the savings account to our SunTrust checking. Or is it worth it to open up a 360 checking account too?
My FI and I are really gung-ho about building up as much savings as we can. We are sort of starting from scratch as we have had unexpected expenses and now wedding expenses are coming up. Plus we are working on getting the money together for an apartment.
So with that in mind, is opening up a Capital One 360 savings account a good idea? Are there any cons that I'm not aware of?
Re: Capital 360--A good idea?
When the Fed finally increases interest rates, you will see interest rates on savings, checking go up -- as will interest rates on new loans.
One caveat-If I remember correctly, you guys are getting married soon. Capital One 360 won't let you deposit checks unless the name(s) on the check match the account, exactly. Our local credit union was willing to work with us on depositing all those "Mr. and Mrs." checks, but the Capital One 360 people just don't have that ability. You can just transfer money from your checking, however.
