Sorry I haven't been around much!
2015 has not been kind to my family!! Sorry soI've been barely around. Here a brief update on what's been going on!
December my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer (for the 3rd time). She had 2 lumpectomies BC the first one didn't get it all. Was told still didn't get it all and needed mastectomy , luckily labs came back from the second surgery all clear! So now mastectomy only radiation, possible chemo.
I finally had my knee checked out from when I fell a year ago, turns out I smashed my knee completely and need surgery. I killed the cartilage and there is some kind of air pocket in my knee. Unfortunately surgery has a 6 week recovery period of absolutely no weight bearing on my leg so work would be out of the question ! Even more unfortunate is there is no way to do the surgery right now financially and with having an 8 month old to deal with! Living in pain for now and hoping a gel injection with help some if my insurance approves it.
Poor baby Tyrion has been sick with one thing after another! Starting in January he had pink eye, then RSV, the some weird stomach bug, and now he has croup! We went to the pediatrician this morning and he had a saline nebulizer treatment and I had to give him a dose of prednisone when we got home. He's a terror on prednisone! Also during all those other illnesses I fell down the stairs while holding him in his car seat. Luckily he was in that, it's seriously the only thing that saved him. The handle being up let it roll. He was upside at the bottom of concrete stairs, completely fine and not injured!
Since he first got sick he's been up several times over night (going on 2 months!). I'm exhausted and some nights I'm in bed at 7:30pm! I keep up with reading most threads but am often too tired to even respond! Just want you girls to know I'm still around! If you can all send some positive and healthy vibes our way that would be awesome!!!
Cookies for anyone who made it this far!
Edited to add- he's been in our bed most nights because he's up a few times. Also he's sleeping right now and i should be as well lol instead I'm writing on message boards BC I miss all you ladies!
Re: Sorry I haven't been around much!
I hope life calms down for you soon. It seems like everyone on this board has had 1 thing after another lately,me included. Let's hope that spring brings calm to everyone!
I have been wondering where you have been.
I hope everything settles down soon.
Forgot the mention T also needs surgery in April for a revision of his circumcision ! He will be under anesthia and intubated! This poor baby can't catch a break!
I hope all the good stuff is waiting around the corner for you and your family!
@WillyH19 I will definetely message you to ask about your experience! Thanks!
@xxjen015 not sure if it's the same. He keeps calling it a lubracating gel. I know it's different from cortisone injections. It's supposed to lube up the cartilage to help ease pain. Did it not work at all for you?
