I finished the next two in this series and I want to discuss. Overall, I liked it. I think there's a lot of depth in the world and I hope that more get published, since I think there's so much potential.
I was disappointed by the lack of descriptive sexy time! At three books and some false starts, I wanted some action, not a fade to black ending! After all, I think we need a better way to compare the love triangle. It is one triangle where I have not been able to pick a favorite, because both guys are so different, but they both seem to genuinely care for Kate.
One of my favorite phrases was when Volos put on a red scarf and it made him look disgustingly handsome.
Re: Prospero's War sp
I'm team Volos, but I like Morales, too. I just feel like that even if Volos's tactics aren't necessarily above board, his intentions are. I'm really, really eager to find out his end game. I don't think it's really going to be a choice though. Morales is fun and reliable, but she has a history with Volos and it's extremely clear to everyone but Kate that she's still in love with him and is just fighting it with everything that she's got. I predict that some event happens where Morales is miraculously out of the romantic picture, because I feel like she'd have to leave her job if she went back to Volos because of Morales. I think it's going to be some super convenient way for her to get off the hook. That's going to annoy me (I have a history of hating these types of triangles for that reason) but I'll be someone appeased if she ends up with Volos.
I like that she's super flawed. She's not super human and she gets the crap beaten out of her. However, she's smart and sassy and has her own way of getting out of these messes.
I really, really hope more get published. This style of book is like candy to me. It's my perfect series addiction. I would never rate them 5 stars, but their enjoyable and comfortable to me. Does that make sense?
Have you read the Sabina books? I read the first 2, but the rest weren't available on audio so I haven't continued yet.

Danny's going to be interesting. I really am not sure what I think about him. What about that teacher, huh? I didn't see that one coming!
I like the Sabina books, but not nearly as much as Prospero's. However, I will add that I read all 3 Prospero's in print and the 2 Sabina's in audio, so that could be the difference. I will finish them eventually, I just have a lot on deck in my print books, I was hoping to get them all on audio.
