Re: Thursday Randoms

  • I have read 3 Outlander books in the last month in a half.
    90 books in 2015?

  • My damn Chi flatiron burnt the crap out of my hair  :((  I just got it cut too and some of the damage is at the top of my hair so getting it cut again isn't an option.  I don't know what to do about it.  It isn't all of my hair but a couple of different areas.  I don't look like freak or anything but I'm going ot have to do some damage control to keep it from getting worse.  here is no heat setting on the iron.  I just got it in October.  I've been using a leave in conditioner and heat protectant.  Guess I'm going to have to get a different one.  Any suggestions on hair treatments that work?

  • My group of friends (there are 8 of us consistently) always get together for each others birthdays.  Mine is this weekend and no one can make it.  They all have very good reasons not to be coming, I'm not upset with them.  It's not as if they are blowing me off. However, I'm feeling very lonely about it all.

Is it possible that it's faulty? I'm no professional, but it sounds like you know your way around a flat iron.  It's strange that it would be burning all the sudden.  I use a flat iron daily (Sedu Pro Ion) and sometimes forget my heat protector and I haven't burned.  Maybe call Chi's CS?  They might be able to help determine if something's wrong with it.

  • Either it's hotter than normal and my hair can't take it or it's faulty.  I've flat ironed my hair for years.  Yes it gets dry sometimes but not like it is now.  I thought about calling customer service but I don't know that i really want a replacement.  I don't trust it now.  I think I just need to stick with an iron that has a temperature adjustment.

  • I think calling them either way is a good idea.  You'll know if it's faulty and you can replace it with whatever you want.  Maybe you can also call where you bought it from? They might be able to help.

@lab7979 I'd call if only to complain and request a refund.

Maybe try cholesterol treatments?  They're deep conditioning treatments.

  • I sent a message to the company.  We'll see what they have to say.  If they do send me a new one I'll probably just give it to my niece.  She wants a good flat iron and can't afford one.  I will never use an iron without a heat dial again!  I've already scoped out a new one I want.  I'm going to have to cyber stalk it for awhile to make sure I get a good deal on it.

  • @lab7979 I've had luck with Folica.  I think they also have trade in deals for discounts.  I can't wait to do that when my crappy hair dryer dies.
