Recommendations?? Just read Slammed by Colleen Hoover

Hi all,

I just finished reading Slammed by Colleen Hoover and really enjoyed it. I finished it in just a few hours and already ordered her follow-on novel, Point of Retreat. Does anyone have any other recommendations for other books that fall into the same realm of YA fiction? I liked Slammed a lot because the characters were older than the typical teenagers/high schoolers in many YA books and there were adult situations as well as creative writing (ie. slam poetry) embedded beautifully throughout the book.

Have you read the rest of Colleen Hoover's books. I love her and have really enjoyed all her books so far! Some of my favorites were the Hopeless series and Maybe Maybe Not. Along the same lines, I really like Jaime McGuire's books as well.

The second Slammed book was ok... The third was one of the worst books I have ever bothered to pick up. lol.

_The Sea of Tranquility_ is a really amazing book. (Katja Millay) Definitely worth a read.

Thanks for the replies, ladies. @CTDec03Bride I just finished the first installment of the Maddox Brothers series. I liked the Beautiful Disaster series in the beginning but I feel like her most recent books haven't been as good. I'll look into the Hopeless series next!

Please keep the suggestions coming, I'm trying to build up my queue so that I have books on deck as the weather gets warm and DH and I start travelling and hanging out outside :-)

Sounds like you're more into New Adult than YA. If that's the case, try some Cora Carmack, Abbi Glines, Tiffany King, and Jay Crownover.

Wait... Hopeless is part of a series!??? This is an epic fail on my part. How have I gone all this time without knowing the whole story?

I recommend Sea of Tranquility and The Sky is Everywhere.

Thanks!! @Skeezon and @SnShne322 do you recommend reading the two Cora Carmack novellas with their accompanying novels in the Losing It series, or reading them separately afterwards? I know that novellas are often written post-series and I don't want to throw off the flow of the sequels.
