Happy early Friday!

What are you reading? Is it for one of the challenges? Just for fun, since we are taking a mini-vacation this week and spending tomorrow in Baltimore, what is your favorite seafood?

Re: Happy early Friday!

  • Glad you posted early!  I almost never get on on Fridays!  I'm reading way too many books to be sane:
    Descent by Tim Johnston
A Death on Diamond Mountain: A True Story of Obsession, Madness, and the Path to Enlightenment
    Jane Eyre
    Stone Mattress
Rejoicing in Lament: Wrestling With Incurable Cancer and Life in Christ

Favorite seafood is any kind of fresh fish

I just started relistening to The Silkworm.  I'm reading Pines by Blake Crouch.  One of my candidates recommended it to me last week and I can't tell if I like it or not yet.  I'm also reading Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard.

ETA:  I always forget the bonus question.  I hate seafood.  The most I will eat is tunafish.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • I just started The Rosie Project. I like it so far. As for seafood:

I love it all. I could totally be a pescatarian. Bring on the sushi, too. Om nom nom nom.

  • I'm reading The Librarian Principle by Helena Hunting. Just something easy so I can focus on editing.

I love lots of seafood, but my favorite is boiled crawfish.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • I'm reading Kindling the Moon for the PNR read.  I'm only about 10% in, so I don't have an opinion other than it reads really fast.  #24

I'm listening to Cherished by Maya Banks/Lauren Dane.  It's two novellas.  The first isn't a series I've read and OMG it's graphic.  I'm not a prude, but a few scenes in this one made me blush. #25

My favorite seafood is scallops.  Though I love anything that can be made in to sushi, too.

  • I am about 10% away from finishing Written In My Own Heart's Blood and I don't want it to be over!!!!!!

I also have been neglecting Running with the Kenyans  and A Short History of Nearly Everything because I have been so sucked up in all things OUTLANDER.

As for seafood:  My dad used to work on a charter boat out of York Harbor Maine when I was younger so we grew up eating all things lobster.  (We at lobster like most people eat hamburg).  We always had fresh cod, haddock, hake, mackrel, lobster, even the rare shark here and there.  I can't think of a seafood I don't enjoy (even octopus and squid).  I miss the days when dad would come home on Sunday nights with 50 or so lobsters.
    90 books in 2015?

  • I am reading Fallen right now. I just finished re-reading Outlander and have felt in a rut for a few days (I'm impatiently waiting for Dragonfly in Amber).

Favorite seafood is shrimp scampi and crab legs.

  • I am reading "The Ruby Circle" by Richelle Mead, it is #19 for the year.  I need to hurry up and finish it because it is due today (oops).

    My favorite seafood is shrimp.

  • I'm half way through Dead Heat right now.  So far so good.  It's book # 23 for the year.  Once I'm done with that I will be starting Midnight Crossroad.

I loved this book. I wasn't expecting to, but I think that having new characters and a fresh start for Charlaine Harris made all the difference in her storyline. I would recommend reading the Lily Bard books she wrote if you haven't already (Shakespeare's Landlord, etc.). It's not necessary but one of the characters from those books is in this book and it makes more sense if you have read the other first. I cannot wait for the follow up book, Day Shift, to come out in May.

  • I'm reading The Collector's Society, by Heather Lyons. It's actually pretty good. I'm enjoying the mash up of literary characters.

I'm also reading One More Thing, by BJ  Novack, which is a hoot.

  • I'm (slowly) reading The Last Letter from Your Lover by Jojo Moyes. #9 for the year.

I like pretty much all seafood, but scallops are my favorite.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I had to recover after The Perilous Sea (and watch the new Hobbit), so I just started The Sowing by K Makansi, which I picked up from bookbub the other day for free. I'm like 10 pages in.

I like fresh red snapper the best.

  • I'm listening to Bones of the Lost by Kathy Reichs and reading Sycamore Row by John Grisham.  Both are good and nice light reading to complement the research I'm doing for grad school.

I'm a vegetarian so no seafood for me.

I read this one last month.  Painful.  So, so painful.

Right now I'm trying to get into The Sky is Everywhere.  I've read a bunch of heavier books lately (The Nightingale, The Kitchen House, The Yellow Crocus) and need something lighter.

I think we should all talk about it when D finishes.

Good, glad to hear this!  I was worried since the last Sookie books were so awful.  Hmm, I don't think I read this series.  I want to say I couldn't get it from the library when I looked a long time ago.  Thanks for the heads up!
