Insurgent movie (Series SP)

Did anyone else go watch?

It wasn't bad. My husband enjoyed it, not knowing the disaster that was coming in the next book - but the way they ended it, with everyone walking toward the walls, was so different than the way it ended in the book. I'm wondering if this means they're going to fix the horrible horrible way that Allegiant ended. A girl can hope, right?

  • Honestly, I wish they would just let it die there.  I don't even want them to try and make an Allegiant movie.  I liked the Insurgent movie better than the book, I think.  I read the book a while ago, but I remember there being so many tangential characters that I couldn't keep them all straight or keep track of who actually mattered and who didn't.  The liked that movie cut through all of that.
  • WHY is Allegiant going to be two movies?? WHY?

  • I liked the movie better than the book, for the most part. I actually like the addition of the box that could only be opened by passing all five factions' tests.  That wasn't in the book, right? Wasn't it just a random hard drive?

I reeeeeally hope they change Allegiant completely. I don't really see how they could keep it the same. They've barely introduced characters like Uriah, and with EVERYONE knowing and headed to what lies beyond the fence, I just can't see it staying to the same story line.

  • I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like Insurgent.  It was definitely better than the book.  I can't recall a lot of the details, it's been awhile since I read the book.  I liked how there seemed like there was less running around to different factions and less names to remember.  Those stick out to me as things I had a problem with in the book.

  • I'm going to see it tomorrow. I'm counting on liking it more than the book because I really disliked the book. I figure the movie can only improve it.

  • I agree that it was better than the book. It cut out a lot of the plot that made it confusing and I liked the box too!

Whoever said that they should just end it at Insurgent - YES! I was saying the same exact thing at the end of the movie! Like, they could totally just end it there and it would be much better than anything that will happen in either of the Allegiant movies.

  • I wonder what they might change in Allegiant? They've said it will be two movies (I hate this trend), so what could they possible DO?

    Gah. I hated Allegiant.

May I suggest killing off Caleb instead of Tris?

That would be awesome! I can't stand Caleb. He's such a douchenozzle.

  • ^^^ I'd pay to see that. It would be especially pleasing in IMAX 3D.
