Re: QOTD 3/31

  • Yes! That was my favorite part about Easter...it still is!

I've actually seen home video of H dying eggs with his sister when they were kids. H was such a control freak and told her what color she could use and when. OMG I died laughing because I'm always making fun of H for doing stuff like that!

  • Yes! Loved it! If I thought we'd eat them, I'd still make them now.

  • Yes we both did!

But I don't even want to think about eating MIL's eggs.  I'm still grossed out a year later.

  • I think we did a few times, but it wasn't an every year thing. We haven't done it with the kids but I'm sure we will when we get into our new house.

  • @xxjen015 - Mmmm we colored eggs with the kids, eggs sat out all night.  Sat out all day, we hid them outside, etc.  That night - MIL pickled them after they'd been out 24+ hours.  H ate them.

We did a few times, but only my mom would eat the eggs, so she stopped because how many hard boiled eggs could a person eat?

    I'm not sure about H.

We don't like hard boiled eggs, so I'm not sure if we will do traditional dye.  Some cultures blow the contents out of the egg, let the shell dry out, then decorate the shell.  It looks really pretty.  We had to do it for a project in middle school.  The blowing out the contents was difficult, but the finished product was beautiful!  I might do that with O in a few years.

    ETA- words.
