Re: Getting Healthy Check-In

  • Goals?  Lose about 50 lbs, feel and look better

How has your progress been this week?  I thought I was back on track, but according to my scale, not so much.  Its frustrating.

What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?  Cleaner eating, more water intake, MFP.  Now that Spring is around the corner, I will start walking around the lake after work.  Although, we are expecting snow today!

Best part of your week?   Our IUI.  But this week is now dragging!  I go in on April 1st for betas.  I will be testing at home before that.  Just not sure when?

Worst part of your week?  Work.  Its just not what it used to be.

QOTW: How many hours of sleep do you usually get? What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)?      I usually get around 6-7 hours, or at least I try.

Close to 48 hours.  I was traveling, alone from Poland, and was supposed to have a direct flight From Warsaw to Newark NJ.  Flight was cancelled, ended up going to London to get a connecting flight, missed a flight there, by the time they figured out what's next and put me up in a hotel room, just to be back at the airport few hours later.  Of course I couldn't sleep at the hotel, bc I was worried I will miss the flight.  By the time I got home it was close to 48 hours, and I was ready for bed!!

    Goals?

Lose 100-125lbs in no set time frame

How has your progress been this week?

Awesome! I started a healthy weight loss competition with a friend, so that started the fire under my butt.

I have gone to the gym the last two days in a row (elliptical for 30 min each time), watching my calories, I started using MFP again, I have had 4 glasses of water in the last three days (I know that isn't much, but I generally don't drink any water at all in a given day). I haven't had a single soda in three days!

What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?

Exercise, drink more water and less Coke, eat healthier, use MFP

    Best part of your week?

going to the gym with DH. I thought I would not like working out next to him, but I enjoy his company, and I feel closer to him.

Worst part of your week? I had a difficult day on Sunday missing our friends back home. We have been in Ohio for a month, and we haven't met any new friends yet. I know a month isn't a super long time, but I just wish we had some friends :(

QOTW: How many hours of sleep do you usually get? What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)? I usually get around 7-9 hours of sleep per night. However, I need 12-14 hours per night to feel rested.

ETA: I forgot to answer the second QOTW question! I can't go very long without sleep. I've probably only gone about 20 hours without sleep.

  • Goals?

First powerlifting competition on 8/1/15 -- then will start TTC! :) I need to cut about 10-15lbs to get into a lighter weight class.

How has your progress been this week?

Great.  Started a new meal plan to cut my weight slooowwllyyy in order to avoid losing strength during the process.

What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?

 3 lift days, 2 cardio/mobility days

    Best part of your week?

we moved our home gym in from the garage to our basement for the winter but now that it's getting warmer, we cleaned up and reorganized our garage gym again.  plus, a friend donated a bunch of extra equipment (almost $1000 worth)! totally excited to get lifting out there again.

Worst part of your week?  unfortunately, it's still too cold to actually lift in our wonderful garage gym, so the basement will have to do for another week or two. come on april, bring some warm temps here in the NYC area!!

QOTW: How many hours of sleep do you usually get? What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)?  usually get around 7-9 hours.  after a particularly heavy workout, i need like 11 to feel fully recovered. the longest i've gone w/o sleep is 28 hours -- finals time during my first year in college.  learned never to do that again -- sooo not worth it!!

  • ~Since FMW is taking a break from the board, would y'all mind if I took this over next week? What day of the week would this work better on?~

Goals? Just lose weight and get healthy...although my ultimate goal is lose 130 pounds.

How has your progress been this week? As of this morning I'm down 13.6 pounds in almost a month. :)

What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Tracking on MFP, I do lots of walking and I do 30 Day Shred 2-3x a week.

Best part of your week? DH saying he can see a difference in my body even though the scale didn't move for a week.

Worst part of your week? Paying taxes. :(

QOTW: How many hours of sleep do you usually get? What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)? It's usually 6-7 a night. I think the longest I've gone without good, deep sleep is 18 hours. It was in college and I helped a friend prepare her house for a hurricane and then we evacuated north. We were up all night getting the house ready and grabbed maybe an hour nap before heading north. We had to stop a couple times to nap...which I didn't do because sleeping in a gas station parking lot skeeved me out. I finally separated from them and continued north. I was meeting my family in the Outer Banks. I was falling asleep at the wheel and had to call my dad to come help. I passed out in my car at a rest station and woke up after maybe 30 minutes to some weird guy looking in my car. It was not fun.

  • @lfk2013 thank you for volunteering to take over Getting Healthy Check-in!  You think end of the week would work better?  Thursday or Friday?
  • I would think so, mostly because we would have had good progress during the week.
