Happy Friday!

What are you reading? Is it for one of the challenges? Just for fun, are you doing anything to celebrate Easter?

Re: Happy Friday!

  • I am currently reading:

    1.  The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd for my IRL bookclub.  So far I am enjoying it. (Book #28 for the year)

    2.  Trapped Under the Sea: One Engineering Marvel, Five Men and a Disaster Ten Miles into the Darkness by Neil Swidey.  I am loving this one.  I had no idea this occurred practically right in my backyard.  I have never heard anything about this before.  (Book #29 for the year).

As for easter, I am cooking for 18 people.

    Still reading Dragonfly in Amber.

On Easter we will hide eggs for DD and go to brunch. Low key!

  • I'm reading Lover Reborn, it is #20 for the year, it's starting to pick up.

I'm listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it is #21 for the year and of course I love it again.

We're going to my in-laws for a late breakfast.

We're doing baskets at home and then going to my ILs for lunch.

  • I am reading Free Agent by J.C. Nelson and I like it a lot so far. I think it is around 60 for the year.

We don't do much celebrating, but I usually put together a small Easter basket for the two of us.

  • I am starting Thorn by Intisar Khanani. I enjoy fairy tale reboots, and this is The Goose Girl by Grimm.

For Easter, I am celebrating the Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread, so tonight we will have a lovely dinner with a large group and tomorrow we will have a special church day. I was assigned desserts for our lovely dinner, so I've made a berry crisp, a black forest dessert, chocolate peanut butter dream bars, and (a new recipe) a flourless chocolate cake with ganache and caramel. I am bringing easily 10,000 calories.

  • I'm reading Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward

Believe it or not, I have a bridal shower on Easter.

  • I'm reading The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb and I'm listening to Reign of Error by Diane Ravitch.

For Easter, we are going to DH's side for breakfast and then hopefully out for Mexican in the afternoon.  We aren't religious but like excuses to get together.

  • I'm (still) reading The Last Letter from Your Lover by Jojo Moyes, and I started listening to Dragonfly in Amber again.

For Easter, we're taking DS to an Easter egg hunt and pancake breakfast tomorrow and having dinner with family on Sunday.

  • Im working my way through the Percy Jackson and Artemis Fowl series to see if I think my son would like them.  I'm a little embarrassed at how much I'm enjoying Percy Jackson.  I always loved mythology, so it is fun to read about it in a "kid" book.

For Easter, we'll go to church and just have dinner here.  My parents are in Florida (not fair) and we'll be with my in-laws on Saturday.

  • I'm reading Fallen Kingdoms. It's good so far!

We don't really celebrate Easter. If it doesn't rain, we'll probably take a bike ride somewhere. We try to bike every Sunday.

  • I'm halfway through The Shadows (BDB #13) by J.R. Ward. Loving it! It's #14 for the year.

Also still reading All The Light We Cannot See. It's pretty slow.

  • I've started Dr. Sleep. I haven't had much reading time this week due to holy week activities in the evening. As for Easter, DH is usually wiped out after all the holy week services and pretty much crashes so we typically stay in. He mentioned having a roast chicken for dinner that day, so I'm going to do that with some other stuff.

  • Making my way through Red Queen by Victoria Ave yard still.

I'm reading Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson and Invaded. I should probably finish both this weekend.

I'm still listening to Brown Girl Dreaming here and there and loving it.

    We're spending Easter with family.

  • I'm 58% done with Dragonfly in Amber.  I think this book is finally starting to get interesting.  But I'm really loving this series.

For Easter, I'm going to Sunrise Service at church and then we're having regular church service.  We're having a family Easter lunch after church.
    Siggy coming soon....
  • I just started reading New York the Novel and it is good so far (I'm only about 30 pages in).

I'm listening to Bones of the Lost and it's really good but I can't figure out how the two plot lines tie together.

For Easter, we will be going to my parents' for dinner.

I am still reading Prudence and listening to Outlander. My week (and reading time) went wonky this week.

Easter is up in the air right now. We had planned to go to ILs but that will be determined by how tomorrow goes.
