Do you have big plans for the weekend? Any fun Easter traditions?
DH and I had my family staying with us for the last two weeks, so we will try to do a whole bunch of nothing this weekend!
Tomorrow and Friday are holidays for us, and Monday we have to move out of our house for a week to get some flooring done. So, we will have to do a bit of packing and meal prep (our hotel room has a full kitchen).

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

Usually we have brunch with my parents...but they don't get back until Saturday evening from California, so I have no idea of plans.
We'll probably end up packing all weekend. My least-favorite part of moving...

Cinnabun and Junebug say, "Go Wildcats!"
We always spend Easter Sunday at my parents house, starting with breakfast.
The Saturday before, we go to church to bless our basket with food, its called Święconka. Its a Polish tradition. The basket contains hard boiled eggs, some bread, ham, salt and horseradish. The foods in the basket have symbolic meaning.
After breakfast we just hang out, relax and always stay to eat dinner with my parents and sister before heading back home.
This weekend will be full of eating, and I'm hoping I can get a workout or three in while down at IL's.
@HoneyBee973 Are you Polish or is your H? My H is of Polish descent, but his family doesn't practice any of the traditions.
Saturday is lunch with my inlaws with taxes
Getting fit for IVF!
I like to have Kiszka once in a while, usually fried up with onion and rye bread on the side. But that's something I only have by my parents house. Idk why, its just something I never buy when I go into the Polish deli. Never had Czernina.
If you like to make pierogi, I recommend you try making strawberry or blueberry pierogi...yum!!!! We always make those when they are in season and we go pick some fresh ones.
Cut up strawberries, mix them in a bowl with some sugar, and just let it sit till you are ready to make them. If you are making with blueberries, no need to cut, but also mix with some sugar.
As a topping, mix some sour cream, half and half and sugar. Adjust the amounts to your liking.
@GABride2010 let me know if you decide to make them, and let me know how you like it!
