  • 1.  How MM was your weekend?
Not bad. Stayed within budget for groceries and gas, did overspend a little on Easter gifts and we already spent our dining budget. I just moved some money around and everything is within reason.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?
I was able to put away $200 into our vacation account and $145 into our payoff account.

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own?
I would honestly buy a truck. The Avalanche has always been my favorite, but because of gas and truck costs, I could never buy it.

    1. How MM was your weekend? Not great. We had family over for Easter (18 people) so I spent $115 at the grocery store dinner, H and I went on a date night and spent $45 for dinner and $13 for a matinee movie. We also had to buy a new washer :( so that was $473 on sale for a top loader HE.

    2. Any progress towards your goals? Yes! I put $1015 towards my car, only $620 left! I also helped my friend's mom all week making flower arrangements for Easter, so I should get a little money for that, I might use it to buy some spring/summer clothes. :)

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own? I really want an SUV, so if money was no issue I'd probably choose the Audi SUV. I think they're gorgeous! Or the Range Rover ;) I love them too!
  • 1. Ok. We spent $50 on Easter brunch and $70 on groceries.

    2. Changed tax withholdings so we won't owe next year, put dog health insurance reimbursement in our e-fund.

    3. I'm so boring. It's really hard for me to get worked up about cars! I love my Honda Fit. Maybe if money was no object I'd have the high end one with leather seats and Sirius? In that ridiculous teal color that the dealer talked me out of due to it having horrible resale value? I also might have back my old 2007 Prius that was totaled. That was an awesome car, but they made some changes to the line that I'm not fond of starting with the 08s. Or maybe a little yellow Fiat...

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend? Pretty good overall, we bought pizza for our family ($48) at my parents house, gas for DH's car ($25) and a few last minute groceries and a Redbox movie ($20).

    2.  Any progress towards your goals? Paid off our 0% interest Home Depot card to get rid of the payment.

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own? I would probably do a mid-size SUV.

  • 1. Very, very not good. H's mother was in town, and we always spend a lot when she's here. She has food allergies, so she prefers to eat out, rather than us buying special foods for her that we don't ordinarily have. We also went shopping every afternoon that she was here. H and I didn't buy anything extravagant, but it was money that we wouldn't have otherwise spent.

    2. $250 in our move money account, $30 in general savings. No vacation deposits this week.

    3. I don't really care much about cars. I will drive anything that has my three requirements: remote start, heated seats, and satellite radio. After having these things already, being back to winters in the Midwest, and having an hour commute, these are my non-negotiables.
  • Looks like no one started this yesterday.

    1.  How MM was your weekend?
    Pretty good, stayed within budget.
    2.  Any progress towards your goals?
An extra $200 to short term savings.
    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own?
I have my heart set on a Toyota Highlander or Toyota Sequoia, both very impractical for me right now, but oh well lol. H would want a old beater truck from the 70s and be able to restore a '67 Chevelle.

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend? Not great- took Friday off and DH and I went to the outlet mall ($435 on clothes that we actually really needed), groceries ($169), birthday presents for family ($60), 2 new pairs of shoes ($110).

    2.  Any progress towards your goals? $500 to savings, over $1,600 to vacation account (state tax return and mini bonus from work).

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own? I'm not really sure- probably a Volvo sedan. A coworker has a BMW and it's surprisingly small inside.. I always thought I wanted one, but I would have to test drive a bunch of different cars first.

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend? Good. Used leftover money from last month for dinner with friends ($32) and blow money for drinks after ($12). Groceries ($58). All in the budget.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals? $1300 to SL and $100 to car repair/replacement fund.

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own? I used to have a Mazda6 that I loved, so maybe something like the crossover Mazda CX-5 to get a bit more space. Or a Dodge Charger? But tbh I really like my Hyundai Elantra, so maybe just keep it but add heated seats.
  • 1.  How MM was your weekend? Not too bad. DH and I went to the zoo (got free tickets from his coworker), and only spent about $12 on snacks while we were there. We also bought pet supplies ($56), groceries ($168--someone please remind me not to let DH shop on his own again!) and I bought a new skirt, shirt and hat at Kohls ($24 after coupons)

    2.  Any progress towards your goals? Just trudging along over here.

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own?  I would LOVE to have a Jaguar F-Type. Of course the one that I really want costs almost as much as what my house is worth, so I guess I'll stick with my reliable little mid-range Honda CRV...at least for now!  :)
  • It was great! $35 on dinner Friday and $28 on gas for dh car. Spent Saturday with Easter festivities all day. Spent half of Sunday painting DDs bathroom and got 3 walls done.

2- $90 in Ira and $90 in savings. Gonna change up my advertising in weddings this week and try to put more money in savings after dhs huge car repair bill. Next time we get a quote like that we will sell his car.

3- never thought about it but maybe a BMW?

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend?

Not great, but it was expected.  We celebrated our second anniversary on Friday and splurged on a nice dinner.  We only do it once a year so I didn't feel too guilty about it.  We also spent about $80 on groceries (including ingredients for Easter dinner), and H scored on some travel/outdoor shirts - $20 each for the kind that vent.  He'll need them this summer for some of the activities his firm is planning, so we bought several.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?
Not really - fighting the good fight against the IRS!

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own?
I've never cared at all about cars.  Like.... not at all.  So I would probably keep what I have (Honda CR-V) because I like it and it can get me from point A to point B, and it holds a lot of stuff.  Maybe I would buy the upgraded version with leather seats?  But also maybe not. Those suckers burn during the summer down here.  H had to have leather seats in his previous car, and he regretted it his first summer.

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend? Bad! I got the 21 day fix program, weights, a blender, and a yoga mat. Expensive but I really am having a hard time losing weight and the program seems like fun.  All of it came to be less that $125. It was worth it.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?  We were able to put away $1,500 towards my fall semester! Only $500 to go!

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own? Honda CRV. I love my moms but we don't need the space so we can't justify spending the money.

  • 1- Ok. Spent $250 on a cruise excursion and ordered $750 in foreign currency for our trip in May (all budgeted). Otherwise, only about $40 for entertainment and $20 for a new shower head (boo!)

2- $150 toward my student loan plus an additional $650 paid today, knocks it down to $3,500. Still on track to have it gone by May!!

3 - I've also been loving audis and range rovers lately! But I do love my paid for 2001accord!!

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend?
not bad- $105 on groceries. I'm getting used to the new grocery budget since we've started feeding the dog real food. the first few weeks were spendy, but we're finally in a good place where we can stock-pile the things that keep for a while when there's a sale and just have to buy the fresh stuff weekly (eggs).
    2.  Any progress towards your goals?
some, we're selling a bunch of stuff that's just been in storage in the basement, we've made about $550 so far...all that is going into our basement/nursury fund.  and thanks to our plan to do a renovation re-finance most of that money should be usable for furnishing those spaces. Obviously we'll need nursury basics, but we also need to replace the mattress in the guest room, as well as think about things like area rugs and window treatments.
    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own?
I don't care much about cars. I like my subaru...I'd probably just get a newer version of that with all the bells and whistles (so glad I went for some of those bell...heated seats are heavenly!) I would love a little zippy fun car (like a little two seater convertable) but even if money were no object those are so impractical in northern new england.

that sounds like fun! We are going to the western Caribbean on Royal Carribean lines. I love them! I've never cruised anywhere but the Caribbean. How about you?

That'll be a blast! I did a Mediterranean (Spain, France and Italy) on Royal Carriebean a few years ago with my mom a few years ago and really liked it. Definitely a great value for the cost! H and I did a Disney Cruise a few years ago that went to Nassau and their private island. Disney is awesome. We've also done New Zeland and Australia on Celebrity and last year we went to Spain, Portugal, Morocco and the Canary Islands. We usually like to do more traditional traveling on the front and back ends of our cruises. This time we'll start with 3 days in Paris, take the Eurostar to London and then another train to South Hampton where we'll get on the ship. Once we get back, we'll spend four more days in London. This trip marks the point which we'll start TTC!

  • 1. Ehhh not so great, Easter festivities had us buying beer and wine. We also went out with my parents one night for dinner and spent more than we wanted to.

    2. DH changed his direct deposit to our credit union, it was going to Old National but I just realized a month ago that they charge a service fee so we decided to move his money over and close his accounts there, which he is doing tomorrow. It will be nice to have all our money together in one bank. Other than that we are on track with our budget... although it is only the 7th.

    3. I'm not too big into cars. I'd love an SUV but we can't justify the need for one right now.

A goat cheese farm and wine tasting excursion? Two of my favorite things. That sounds amazing.

  • 1.  How MM was your weekend?  Not good, some budgeted some not.  I got snipped that cost $400 (used flex spend account), brakes on my car $580, we didn't eat out and MW did grocery shopping and BJ run both under budget.

    2.  Any progress towards your goals?  Need to make my beginning of the month Credit Card payment that includes our YMCA membership.

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own?  If that included unlimited gas, I would love to get a conversion van that has cargo space in the back versus a third bench seat.  Kind of like some of the Amish transport vans that have more room than a traditional conversion van but more seats than a work/ cargo van.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend?
Crappy! We had family in town for the holiday weekend (Friday through Sunday) so grocery costs were up.

    2. Any progress towards your goals?
Nothing new, just continuing to save.

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own?
    I'd love an Edge.

    1.  How MM was your weekend?
Could have been better.  $60 on Easter (not budgeted but paid for out of gift fund); $170 groceries (budgeted); $28 ordering pizza (not budgeted).
    2.  Any progress towards your goals?  Paid an extra $250 towards our new mattress set with money I earned through my baking business.  Nothing else out of the ordinary.

    3. If money was no object, what kind of car would you own?  If money AND practicality were not a concern, I would own a 1965 Corvette Stingray, or a 2005 50th anniversary edition Corvette.  Practicality-wise, I'm not sure......I'm pretty happy with my inexpensive Chevy Cruze.  I would maybe upgrade to something a little roomier that we can take the dogs in on vacation so we don't have to use H's truck.
