What did you all think? How do you think they did with the "punishment" scene? I was wondering how they'd handle that one...

  • No.

    Wrong.

    Not what happened.

    That was okay.

    Wrong.  Again.

    (That sums it up.)

  • I feel like I need to do another outlander reread because I can't remember what was and wasn't in the book (but I'm pretty sure a lot of this episode wasn't in the book).

  • I sort of liked the idea of an episode being from Jamie's POV, but I don't know that I actually liked it once I watched it. I can't decide.

Half the episode I was like, "What?"  But I still love it so. And we got Jamie butt! There's nothing wrong with that.

You know what WASN'T in the book???  Collum asking Jamie how he planned to take over the clan now that he had a sassenach wife!  NEVER HAPPENED!  COLLUM DIDN'T WANT THAT!

I read that part of the book that afternoon. So much was different. I still liked it, but holy changes Batman!!
  • I expected they were going to change a bit of that episode.  The Collum/Jamie and Collum/Jamie/Dougal thing was... interesting.  I wonder if it just sets up more for the witch trial with Geillis?

I wanted the Loaghaire thing to translate more to Claire.  We get to see more of what happens in their conversation, but Claire was a bit (a lot) more possessive, no?  She was oblivious to it.

    Definitely not my favorite episode.

The fight between Claire and Jamie about Laoghaire is one of my favorite in the whole book.  When she tells him that he's welcome to do whatever he wants? Sigh. They leave out some of my favorite parts all the time.

And I'm CONVINCED that's not really what happened with Laoghaire.  I believe it's totally what he said in the book which was they crossed paths, he was courteous to her, then moved on. I don't believe she showed up in a revealing bodice and threw herself at him. AND THAT HE WAS TEMPTED. GAH!  That was infuriating.

  • The more I think about it, the more confused I get.

Where the F are they going with all this?

Also, LEGWHORE YOU USELESS, SLUTTY BITCH!

I do think the spanking part was done as well as they could. My mom said it was pornographic. HAHAHAHAHA.

  • you girls make me giggle.  My problem is that I just started the 3rd book, so I have no idea what is or isn't part of the 1st book--in most cases.  I was kind of pissed about the Legwhore scene...I knew it didn't happen that way.  It didn't feel "right," I guess.
I also don't remember the blow up with dude getting in Collum's face about being the father of his son...I didn't think that was ever that out in the open.  Am I wrong?

I didn't remember that either.  I was actually kind of shocked by that scene.

No.  You're not.  Dougal NEVER mentioned it in the book.

  • ok.  That's what I thought.  I kind of like that it was "out in the open."  I wonder how much say Diana had in the series--I mean, are the changes things that she wished she did in the book?
