Newborn babies all look the same to me; the only variation is color. I don't understand why people gush and squee over them and say how it's the most beautiful baby in the world. They all look the same! They're much cuter after a few months.

A large aspect of my job has to do with resolving personnel issues and for years I have loved helping people but lately I am getting so fed up with dealing with people who are well beyond the "you should know better" age and fixing things that usually boil down to high school drama or immature/poor decision making. Why is common sense too much to expect??

Here's my confession:

I tried to FB friend someone who used to be on this board (maybe still lurks). She never accepted. I took back my request.

I'm fabulous and fun. I don't need her FB friendship. She lost out.

In that same vein, when FB shows me "who I might know" I can always tell when people are from this board by who they are friends with, but I usually have NO IDEA who they are. I always feel badly like people think I'm a FB snob for not friend requesting more people.

My confession: DD and I had ice cream (frozen yogurt bar) for dinner last night. DH was out so why not?

Maybe she didn't know who you were? Because you totally are super fabulous. I have no idea who most people are on this board by their real names. Unless I can figure out people from their pictures, but that feels weird and stalker-ey.

We just got back from Florida -- Disney! -- and I have never been happier to live in a northern-ish climate. I feel like I look like myself again. Florida absolutely hates my hair, and my mascara was a continuous melty mess until I gave up completely.

As someone who works with hundreds of babies a week I can say most do look similar and have a pretty average newborn look. However, there are a few that are really freaking cute. And I do agree that they get cuter later. Around 2 months seems to be the sweet spot where they get really cute.

I am friends with a few people from here but I think most of them requested me. I am too shy to request people myself even if I recognize them as someone from here. If you see me, feel free to request me!

My confession is that DD has been running around carrying her two basketballs all day yelling "I have two balls!" and its making me giggle because I am a 12 year old boy.

I never really know what the protocol is for friending people from here. I usually request it for people who I've talked to or met outside the board. I think that's just because I'm trying to be conservative and I don't want people to feel obligated to be friends with me because they know me from here. Does that make sense? I've also friends a person or two from here who never accepted so I don't want to get all butt hurt more often that I need to be.

On the flip side, I don't know that I've ever turned down a friend request from people. I usually get all, "Squeee! They like me!"

We all need validating sometimes, right? (I hope)

@MrsJenE I was so excited to get your friend request (I think it was back in the fall. I am always kind of shy adding friends. @BabyRN2006 I will be adding you tomorrow, because I just noticed today that we weren't friends.

Sometimes when people aren't my friends I assume it is because they don't like me or I annoy them or whatever. I really hate that I always jump to that conclusion.

I am going to have a lot of fb time this week, so maybe I will bite the bullet and try to be friends with people.

@fabk I didn't realize we weren't friends until I got your request this morning, lol! I think there are a few people I just assume I am friends with because I see them in the FB group

The whole friending thing is like asking someone to prom or something. I have no idea why it makes me so nervous. There are plenty of reasons someone might not want to "friend" me, and a lot of them aren't personal in the least. But still, I fret. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.
