Vellichor: The strange wistfulness of used bookstores

Re: Menu Monday

  • Monday: Chicken puttanesca - I was going to make this last week, but didn't, so it's up this week.

Tuesday: I'm going to my parent's place, so whatever we scrounge up there

Wednesday: Quinoa stuffed peppers and zucchini

Thursday: My sister and I are going to the Giant's game, so ballpark food at the game!

Friday: Meeting an old friend for dinner, so out again.

Bonus: Mostly Safeway, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, or Costco. Different things from different places. :)

Sun:  Grilled cheeseburger wraps, cinnamon sweet potato wedges

Mon:  Korean beef, sautéed peppers, pineapple, jasmine rice

Tue:  Cola pork, polenta, sautéed squash and zuchinni

Wed:  Take DD out for Mexican food since DH has a work dinner.

Thu:  Honey chipotle chicken tacos, black beans, fried plantains

Fri:  Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, roasted apples

    Sat:  ?

We end up at three different stores for groceries each week which is so annoying.  HEB (Texas chain) for meat and staples, Kroger for my daughter's berry addiction, oat milk, and any other necessities, and Sprouts for our produce.

Sunday-homemade corned beef and a salad. I corned the beef myself (it brines for 10 days)
    Monday-Chicken tacos
Tuesday-Salmon with goat cheese and arugula and some sort of side
    Wednesday-something with leftover corned beef
Thursday-Friday-no idea yet, but the tofu needs to be used asap.

Oops, forgot the bonus. Mostly Kroger, but we get bulk stuff and coffee from the coop, milk & eggs and some produce from the local creamery (Homestead) and make pilgrimages to Trader Joe's on occasion and stock up on things (like the tofu). I really really really wish we had a TJs closer than 90 minutes! We also hit the Fresh Market for specialty items.
