Kinda MMR: Driveway Sealing
We have one of those black asphalt driveways. It was poured when the house was built in 1994. It's faded and the edges are overgrown with grass. But, it also has three cracks running on it side-to-side that basically divide our driveway into thirds. These are the major concern, plus the overall wear and tear on the material due to the MN harsh winters.
We got a coupon flyer from a local franchise that does asphalt resealing with a 10 Point process (Seal King). And, we weren't planning on doing anything to the driveway, but the price is less than $200. So, we might jump on it.
Anybody know of this company? Or, have you had your driveway resealed? Thoughts?

The driveway is near the end of it's typical lifespan, so you could have them fix the cracks and seal coat it, but you'll probably end up replacing it sooner rather than later.
Well, as it turns out the $174 quote I got was last year's price for a driveway with a 3 car garage, but they are still honoring this quote for me and the resealing is scheduled for April 30th pending good weather.
The lady I spoke with said that the resealing can last 2-3 years depending on the base condition of the driveway prior to resealing. Ours is in okay shape - old, but doesn't have a lot of breakage or spider web cracking, which she said costs extra to fix. The main cracks we have are normal cracking due to settling and temperatures and she said they do fill them and seal over top.
Anyway, this process will probably kick up lots of dirt and dust, so it's good we're getting it done prior to power washing the house (painting it this summer too).
