Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • I have been compulsively tracking my B&N package that contains the first season of Outlander. I need to stop. It hasn't changed. I just can't wait to watch it. I've only seen the first episode that aired for free.

  • I have an asshole board member (there are more than one, but in this instance it's just one of them) who wants to speak with me on the phone about an acquisition for the museum that he wants me to facilitate. He tells the executive director this about two months ago, and I called him then. I got a voicemail so I left a message. This week he goes AGAIN to the ED to tell him he's mad that I haven't gotten in touch with him and I learn that he doesn't return phone calls and I should have kept calling him until I got in touch with him. WTF???!!!??!!  That's not how this works! What a pompous asshat. If one person has left a message, it is now the recipient's turn to make the call, and so forth and so on until a connection is made.

I'm tempted to call every hour on the hour until he picks up, and if he doesn't pick up leave a message over and over and over again. But I fear that would be unwise.

  • I just came back from the bank and a woman had her cat with her on a leash.  I confess that the crazy cat lady in me wanted to pet the cat but the sane rational part of me didn't want to approach the crazy lady that was attached to the cat.

    Common sense won out.

  • Speaking of that's not how it works, I put a CL ad to sell some curtains and indicated that I wanted to meet at a specific shopping center for pick-up.  The first responder said he could meet me at a specific time, and then dropped this -- "Since I live so far away from you, your place is inconvenient for me.  Let's meet at ___ in Reston."  Reston is a good 30 minutes away from me, probably more with traffic.  Uh, no.  That's not how it works.

I recently saw my neighbors walk their cat on a leash.

I walk my cat around the yard on a leash and I have no shame about it.  We both love it.

  • This woman was not just walking her cat on a leash.  She had it in a pouchy baby holder thing when she first walked in but when she sat down she let the cat out on its leash.  The cat was obviously her "child".  (not that there is anything wrong with that).  But it is obvious the woman is not quite on the same level as the majority of the population (hence the reason this crazy cat lady did not approach said cat).

and did I mention that it was one of those hairless cats?

I am sitting on the couch eating marshmallow peanuts and seriously debating going against Dr orders and having a drink. Is that a good confession?

Yeah, that whole picture you're painting us is a special level of crazy.

Yeah that is crazy cat status to me and most people would deem me a bit of a crazy cat lady.  I also would never take my cat to the bank.

I legit witnessed a lady walking a rabbit on a leash around at the cherry blossom festival. Her boyfriend was carrying a leather purse-satchel for the rabbit.

I have had some stuff going on. One of the drugs they used on me doesn't allow for any alcohol. I am now counting down the days.
  • There is also a weird guy in town that walks his gigantic pet iguana on a lease down Main Street.

  • yep, @elistar and @hoycie I don't like either of you.

Confession: my boss is probably going to turn in his two week notice soon.  Although I have no idea what's going to happen to his "duties" I'm just ready for someone to come in and work 40 hours without 1564738.018 smoke breaks and then bitz that he doesn't get anything done, even though he comes in SO early in the morning.

Confession 2.0: now that I'm diabetic I had to give up certain things but because of the asshat doctor visit on Wednesday, I immediately ate a whole bag of Kettle Cooked Jalapeno chips...in the waiting room...of the diabetic clinic...while they scheduled a follow up.  (and yes, i know it's stupid and I am totally watching my diet, but I was pissed). (and the chips were delish)

My confession is that while I occasionally watched Friends when it originally aired, most of the jokes and GIFs flew right over my head.

I started watching from episode 1 last week and suddenly so much makes sense!

I'm on season 7 already. I've literally watched 146 episodes of Friends in the last week.

I think this is the best thing I've read all day! That's awesome. That show never gets old for me.
