Books worth waiting for

I know there's a similar thread going with new releases. I want to know what books you have on hold at your library, or you might be waiting to buy when they come down in price. I have Overdrive and I'm looking to stack my hold list to have good books in my que. What's worth (new/old/classic) reading these days that might have a long waitlist?

P.S. I'm halfway through "The Giver" I literally made it to my early 30's before reading this book (although I LOVE Lois Lowry.) Is there series good/worth adding to the waitlist? I'm not that excited by the book so far.

Re: Books worth waiting for

  • I just read The Giver, a few months ago. It was okay, I read the next two, and they were okay, but I don't have any desire to continue.

  • Actually, I take it back, I only read 'Gathering Blue', I checked out 'The Messenger' on audio and never actually listened to it.

  • I see your picture with Gayle Forman - Did you read "I was here"? I loved the If I Stay books (wasn't psyched by the movie), is I was here worth adding to a wait list/

  • @dutchgirl76 I loved Where She Went, definitely read it. I actually really loved the If I Stay movie, I didn't have high hopes, but I thought it was one of the better adaptations.
