I woke up at 2:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I finished The Start of Me and You within 5 minutes of my alarm going off. Coincidence or fate?

My kid's first discernible word was book. I picked it one up the other day, he grabbed it out of my hand, looked at me and said book. I'm a proud mama.

I just up and decided to make a huge career change that requires me to go back to grad school. At first I was pretty intimidated but my H is being so supportive and for the first time in awhile it feels AWESOME to be excited about work. Also- I'm already loving the couple of necessary book buying binges I've had at B&N and on Amazon.

My oldest left for DC for her 8th grade trip this morning. I am excited for her (and jealous- I want to go!) but can't even IMAGINE what is was like for my parents when I went away. At least I can touch base via text if I want. I'd be shitting myself if I had no contact for 4 days with her!

I went to Russia for 10 days and Sweden for 1 day, when I was in 8th grade. It was not a school trip but a couple teachers were going, a few parents and several of my friends. This was in 1992 so I definitely had no cell phone. I don't know how my mom did it either. I would lose my mind.

I've been cast in a play and I'm super excited! We begin rehearsals on Sunday and I already have my script highlighted and flagged. I am playing Gillian in the play To Gillian on her 37th Birthday. We open on June 3. Any NBCers who are near Roanoke, VA, come see me!

I might be going to Columbus in July for work. I have family there, but I just keep wondering how many Nestie's would be available for a GTG?

Also, Boston's a lovely place this time of year.

I'm not much of a traveler so my experience is limited. It's not a great driving city, though it's not impossible either, but I think it's pretty kid friendly. Lots of museum, aquariums and historical things that will be over Audrey's head, but still fun for her. I remember 'throwing tea' off the ship in the harbor. There's also a Thomas the Train theme park opening this summer. And TONS of stuff a short ride out of town.

My work has a facility in Olathe. That's close by, right? I'm suppose to get out there 'sometime'.

We got new video phones at work. I always forget that I'm on camera when I call people. I just grabbed the phone standing up to call our IT guy and talked to him about an issue for several minutes before looking down to see that the ONLY thing on my screen was my boobs. Just a giant full screen close up of my boobs through our whole conversation.

This is a fabulous story.

It is so something I would do. And also, I would hate video phones. I can't stand face time and skype. I feel awkward.
