WTF you guys. Way to lighten the mood.

My confession is that a hot co-worker told me he'd buy me chocolate if I did a project for him, and I'm tempted to ask him for shirtless pics instead #HRbedamned

    I dare you.

  • Because I work at a transportation museum I am frequently around men who clearly haven't gone beyond the Mad Men years in terms of how they interact with women in an office environment and/or have never WORKED in an office environment before (railroaders). They either try to treat you like a secretary or make off colored jokes/comments, and it's got my irritation level at an 11 this week. The ones doing the latter are new and seasonal, so it's not forever, thank goodness. We have no HR to speak of since we're so tiny but I'm thinking about asking our Deputy Director to make these yahoos watch one of those awful anti-discrimination/sexism videos that we had to watch when we started. In the meantime, I feel like this:

  • I have no more fucks to give this week. Completely done.

  • @sassypants527 Story of my life!! I work in a male-dominated industry and I feel like it's always a balance of which battles to fight and which to let slide. Unfortunately, I feel like the behavior is absolutely inappropriate but overall it's easier to let it go than be the PC-police allllll the time. Hang in there!

@FirstMate06 I honestly don't understand how this is 2015 and men still feel like this sort of behavior is appropriate! And frankly, most of the time it's guys near (or past) retirement age. I get that when they started working it was more acceptable *shudders* but dang, it's not like they fell out of a time portal from 1965 into 2015! They've been in the work force this whole time and should have some concept of how to behave!

  • I am beyond irritated at my sexist boss. He rehired a data entry clerk that he was forced to fire barely 3 weeks ago. She was fired because she could not go a month without missing 2-3 days ALL the time over the course of 2 years. She was always griping that she didn't make enough money, etc. She starts Monday and gets reinstated with everything, same pay, vacation time, etc. It is absolutely ridiculous because he treats her like a single mom (she has a freaking boyfriend that makes like 3x the money we all make here). Everyone is the office is bitter and talking about what an idiot he is. She is 24 young, blonde with a nice ass and he ogles her when she is standing across from his office.

I like how this entire thread is about the inappropriate behavior of sexist men in the workplace, except for me, who shamelessly objectifies her male co-worker.

If you can't beat em, join em, apparently.... Haha oops

I laughed out loud at this. I guess my confession is that I found your comment refreshing since it breaks the cycle! :-)

Ugh. I'm so sorry. I hate when you have CWs who are slackass and get away with murder.
