Back from St Lucia :)

It was just a fantastic trip! Everything was perfect and it was like a 2nd honeymoon for DH and I. I was upset the first day we got in because I really missed DD, but by the 2nd day everything was all good. We stayed at Sandals La Toc and I would highly recommend that resort. I had never been to a resort before and it was so great not to worry about anything. All meals, drinks, and some water sports were included. I splurged on a massage, DH splurged on scuba diving, and he surprised me with a private yoga lesson on the beach and a private candlelight dinner. I got all emotional because we had decided not to pay extra for the dinner, but he said he saved up. We really needed that alone time after being parents for 4 years. I have attached some photos and hopefully you can view them. I need to unpack and balance the check book now

By the way, that yoga pose is awesome - I'm kind of intimidated by your yoga skills

Question: did this inspire thoughts about future trips? H and I are trying to convince ourselves that our travel days won't be numbered once we start TTC.

I love my yoga. DH took tons of photos of me on the beach doing several different poses. I never get opportunities like this.

while a resort is nice we really do still like renting beach houses or cabins while on vaca like we did in hawaii and colorado. Although if we go international I like the resorts because we are not familiar with the area. we were still able to go into town and all the people were really nice. I didn't like how people at the resort were always trying to sell us stuff and the locals were hardcore about getting our dollars. We got asked several times if we smoked weed. People were selling it.

As for vacations after kids we still travel with DD - it is possible to have a life after babies. Since DD was born we have been to colorado twice and sanibel once with her. We will be going to branson with family in June. It's really no big deal, just make sure you still save money for travel after baby. Though there is no way I would have travelled while pregnant - I don't like being far from home pregnant and I was sick for 8 months with DD so that would have put a damper on our vaca time for sure. We did see 1 pregnant girl, probably about 6 or 7 months pregnant at our resort with her DH. If you have a normal pregnancy it's no big deal either.

Ahhh, I was thinking about you today thinking you should be back soon! Glad you had a good time!! Sandals are awesome and I really like not having to pay extra for many things! We stayed at the Grande resort and hope to go back in 2017 for our 5 yr anniversary! Not sure if it will be the same island though but we'll see, maybe we will try somewhere different. I'm jealous!

Did you go to the other resorts at all?

yeah this was basically our 5 year anniversary celebration. We want to go back to Hawaii for our 10 year since that's where we had our honeymoon. Luckily half our vacation was paid for by the wedding DH shot there. I couldn't believe the grand total of what it would have cost if we paid for it all ourselves. we didn't spend that much going to hawaii for 8 days.

we did spend a day at the grande at their beach and a little bit on pigeon island. The only thing we liked better at the grande was how calm the ocean was. we lounged on the round floater for an hour just enjoying it. the waves at our resort were a bit more aggressive.

DH told me that DD asked him this morning if there is a baby in my tummy yet. I guess she thought we went there to put a baby in there. LOL - the kid can't wait for a sibling.
