Re: QOTD 4/29

  • No.  I have had my debit card canceled by Chase for suspicious activity--they are SO good at catching that stuff.

  • I had my Discover card stolen right after I used it to pay DH's traffic ticket in Massachusetts.  I thought that was interesting.  Someone actually tried to buy plane tickets with it.  Ummm Mr. Thief, you do realize that you have to put your name on the tickets right?

I also just had my Netflix account stolen.  That was weird.

  • Never physically stolen but I did have fraudulent charges on both my AmEx and Discover. Both were resolved easily.

  • How odd and timely that this popped up today, as I realized this morning we had two fraudulent charges on our joint bank credit/debit card. First time it's ever happened. I already took care of disputing the charges with the bank and will be waiting on the fraud department to investigate. Thankfully, neither was large or put us in the hole - both were to Wal-mart of all places.
  • I feel like I'm gonna jinx myself if I answer.

  • Not physically, but we got hit in the Target AND Home Depot debacles. We also had it stolen one other time. The first time, they bought stuff from a florist in England and something else. The Target issue, Victoria's Secret.com and somewhere else for a few hundred dollars, and in Home Depot an account at match.com and fitnesssingles.com

All were easily resolved, thankfully! They're a pain in the toosh, but the credit card companies were great.

  • Mine have not but a few years ago H's card was used to buy flowers and something else out of state. The bank easily took care of it.

I think my information was stolen when the Target hack happened because about 3 months later my bank sent me a new debit card.  When I called to inquire, they said my information was compromised and they couldn't give me any further information.

H's card was taken in the Home Depot hack.  One night I was feeding O and he was paying bills.  He came in and said there were like 4 charges from Home Depot that evening.  He called the bank and they were reversed immediately.  While he was on the phone with the bank, they made another attempt.  Our bank was really great with working with us and securing our account.
