I have too many books on the go and not enough time to read.  I am actively trying to read The Rosie Effect and the last Game of Thrones book though.

I already gave my mom her gift but we are having MIL over for supper on Sunday.

I'm reading "Missoula" by John Krakauer and "Young Pioneers" by Rose Wilder Lane.  They are #31 and #32 for the year.

We are going to my ILs for Mother's Day.  I wish I could skip it and stay home by myself.

  • Reading Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover and The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson for fun.

Going to my SILs house for a Mother's Day brunch, but I wish my H and I could just take my MIL out on our own. Both of my SILs have kids and I'm the newest wife in the family so they treat me like I'm not a part of their "club."   *sigh*  Sent my mom flowers and a gift since she's kinda far away and we'll celebrate with her next weekend.

  • Still plodding through The Alchemist's Daughter. If nothing interesting happens and I finish this book I'm going to be really pissed I gave it so much of my time.

We're going to see my SMIL tomorrow for lunch. I sent cards to my mom and grandmother. They live far away.

I'm reading a Court of Thrones and Roses (I think that's what it's called) by Sarah J. Maas. #22/50 for the year. It's really really good so far. I'm hurting for the next book in her other series though. Man, just really good stuff.

We're having brunch on Mother's Day with our families. I unfortunately have to work in the evening.

  • I am finishing Dead of Winter by Kresley Cole. It's a re-read and maybe around 75 for the year.

I sent out cards, since our families live in different states. I have a work trip back to MT that I'm flying out for. I'm excited to see my coworkers and to see the mountains again, but not surprised at the potential for snow.

I am finishing A Desperate Fortune by Susanna kearsley. I'm reading Dark Angel by Amanda Jones. I used to work with her and read an early draft of this. It's fun if the paranormal folks are looking for something new.

I'm listening to The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer and it is so so good.

I've been reading The Burning Sky, but my library loan expired so I'll have to get back on the waiting list to finish. I've also got Keturah and Lord Death, which Laini Taylor recommended on her blog a few years back, going, but in my zombified end of the semester state I need something familiar and wonderful that I don't have to think about too much so I'm rereading Dead of Winter by Kresley Cole.

We're taking my MIL (and me =) ) out for crab dinner on Mother's Day and I got my mom some pictures of the boys and an adult coloring book and colored pencils that I'm going to ship out in a care package.

  • There's a long story here about how Barnes & Noble pushed down half a book for "The Sowing" to my Nook, and after finishing what I thought was the entire book, I began book 2 "The Reaping" only to realize that something was quite amiss. Spoiled three full chapters before I realized there was a curious lack of flashbacks to fill in the mammoth blanks happening in the story line.

Fought with B&N. Dude had the balls to tell me that this was part 1 of a 3 part series and I needed to buy the other novels. I pointed out that their own website said the book has 290 pages, whereas my Nook shows 140 pages. Finally got someone in customer support who tried to download "The Sowing" to his Nook and VIOLA! 'it really is only half the book.' So he forwarded it for research.

So... I have started Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I'm looking forward to it, as I hear that it's much like Throne of Glass.

We'll barbeque for Mother's Day. It's supposed to pour down rain. I have to prepare my house for guests later next week, so I'll have a busy day.

  • Update: I finished The Alchemist's Daughter and I'm disappointed in it. Meh. At least now I can move on to Trigger Warning, though.

  • I haven't checked in in quite some time but now that I feel like I can read again I will start back up :). I am reading "At the Water's Edge" by Sara Gruen and "The Daring Ladies of Lowell" not sure of author.
