Re: Mommy and Mommy 2b!

  • @mrshall1027 - first off that hair is to die for! Second, don't beat yourself up about bottle feeding. I cried whenever I determined that I would pump and supplement, so I'm not saying I didn't beat myself up too, but what matters most is that you're feeding her and you guys are doing what is best for you as a family. I feel so much less stressed now and know that if I would have continued trying to breastfeed, we would have been an unhappy family. You have to do what works best to keep your little family happy and if that is bottle feeding, so be it. :)

Thanks.  I'm feeling better about it as the days go on.  H and my mom are happy about it because they get to feed/bond with her too now, so that's a positive.  I guess I'm beating myself up more about it because at the hospital, it seemed like everything was going really good until the the last night we were there.  All she wanted to do was comfort feed, so I was up until 4am and beyond tired.  I listened to the nurse when she suggested to give her a paci, which worked, but I think that's what threw her off and it wasn't the same after that.  After speaking with a lactation consultant, I now know what I should have done in that situation and just wish I would have been able to do that at the time.

BFing is hard and doesn't work for everyone. Just know you are doing what's best for you and baby and your daughter is healthy.

@mrshall1027 - Don't beat yourself up about one night in the hospital. Newborns are hard work and constantly changing so there's nothing saying what you did or didn't do in that situation affected the outcome. Just keep moving forward knowing that you are the best mommy for your little one.

Noah had a champion latch while we BF but he refused to stay awake so we had to change things up. We're doing what works best for our family just as you're doing what is best for yours.
