Brazilian waxing?

I have been going back and forth about getting one for couple years now. Made an appointment twice, and cancelled because I chickened out! If you get them done, or just had it done once, please share your experience.

I am not sure if I am more scared of the pain, or the fact that someone is 'getting in there' up close and personal with wax.

Love them. Wish I could afford them more. It hurts more the first time then subsequent appointments. But worth it. So, so worth it.

ditto to getting the nerve up to make an appointment, I've thought about it for a long time, but I've never built up the nerve to make an appointment. I've heard to expect bleeding/irritation the first time....so don't do it right before a big beach weekend or anything!

interesting, I had 2 or 3 friends advise me against getting my first wax before our trip to Jamaica last year because of this...maybe the place they go isn't as good as they say!

Now, I have been a little sore there after, but nothing visible. Definitely make sure you're going to a reputable place.

I've been on the fence about getting waxed down there (I hate shaving the lady bits)...I'm going to have to suck it up and do it for the summer.

Never heard about bleeding or irritation. But I imagine it would be sore afterwards. When/if I go, I would go to the European wax center

I've had many and have never had any bleeding. Minor tenderness, yes, but nothing more that that. And, like IM said, it gets easier every time.

I have gotten that done about 3-4 times at a few different places. It is kind of awkward that someone is all up in your business. One of the most awkward things was when they wax your butt crack. It doesn't hurt, but it is kind of strange having someone purposefully looking at your crack!

The waxing hurts, but it goes away quickly. IMO it feels like an upper lip wax. I love not having to shave!! I have never had any bleeding, and the only irritation was from DH

I highly recommend the Brazilian! I also wish they weren't so expensive...I would get them a lot more often!

I had it done once. I was literally sweating because it was so uncomfortable. I liked the results, but the pain was a bit too much to bear (although I did not have any issues with bleeding or irritation). Nonetheless, I have never been back because I was so traumatized by the entire experience.
