WIJFR: "Missoula" by Jon Krakauer (NS)

I feel like I could rant about this for days but I won't.

I don't even know what to say about this book other than I think everyone should read it.  The content was so frustrating and I spent a lot of the time pissed off at the legal proceedings, the police and some of the attorneys but it was a really good book.  I live in a college town and the university I work at recently had their own rape scandal so it definitely hit close to home.

@booneybear I saw on GR that you just finished this, what did you think?

  • I just finished today as well.  I thought it was excellent.  Jon Krakauer presents everything in a very clear and easy to follow way.  I never had to go back and ask "now who was that again"?

The subject matter was completely disturbing and it is hard not to get all fired up about the subject matter.

There were certain people involved in one of the trials that I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to punch in the face.

I really like Jon Krakauer, but I hadn't even heard about this one.  Thanks for the rec, both of you - I'm going to add it to my TBR now.
  • I'm excited to read it too. My library only has it in paperback with a waitlist so I'm adding my name to the list.
