Jodi Picoult

I hope I'm not alone, but I enjoy Jodi Picoult books. I've read a few of her books:

The Pact
The Tenth Circle
Salem Falls
19 Minutes

She has a new one "Leaving Time" that's going to paper back, is that one any good? Any recommendations on other JP books?

The Storyteller. I'm not usually a fan of her books but I loved it.

I stopped reading her books after (I think) The 10th Circle. Then a friend recommended Storyteller and I loved it. 19 Minutes is probably my favorite.

Eta: can't believe I forgot My Sisters Keeper! That was my first Picoult.

  • I have read a ton of her books, but stopped after a bit because the formula got to be predictable. I may have to pick up some of her newer ones though. I really liked My Sister's Keeper, House Rules, Plain Truth, & Perfect Match.

This.  I loved the ones I read, though.  19 Minutes, The Tenth Circle, and My Sister's Keeper all stand out as favorites.  I tried listening to the Storyteller recently, and I just couldn't get into it at all.

Anyone interested in a read along for one of the more recent ones?

I just read the description of Leaving Time, and I think it sounds good.  I can have it from my library in about 2 weeks, I think.  Maybe a June read along/book club?

I agree that the books follow a similar formula. I like that a few characters appear in different books, but, it'd be nice to have some new blood. I also find her books could be a bit shorter, sometimes I don't see the point in flashing back, it's doesn't always help add to the story.

I'd be up for a read along with one of her new ones.
  • The Storyteller annoyed me from the get go but I finished it anyway. Leaving Time was really good because I didn't see the plot twist coming at all.
Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

  • Hi sorry lurker here trying to get active!
I like most of Jodi Picoult's books, and while they were starting to feel formulaic, I read Leaving Time on my honeymoon and thought it was pretty decent! Lots of cool stuff about elephants, too!
