We made it to the end of the week! YAY! Not much going on here today. I have to pay bills, meal plan, and grocery shop. I'll probably clean too.

OMG - such a morning. Super high and super low moments already. While running errands my doctors office called to say my blood test was positive and we scheduled my first appointment. Then not even 5 minutes later my phone rang. I was checking out at Bed Bath and Beyond so I ignored it. Got to the car, the voicemail was a pre-recorded message and the first part was cut off. I had no idea who was calling but they said I needed to call back or they would take immediate action. Well for the last year or so I've been getting doctor appointment reminders and other stuff for someone else in OKC. Thinking this was the same I called back to correct them. But nope the lady who answered had my info, long story short. It's a payday loan scam. She was saying I'd taken out a loan in 2010 and was being sued for nonpayment. No matter how much I adamantly insisted I had not taken one out, she was just as persistent that there was nothing I could do except settle or file a police report. All the information she had was random but valid. She had an address I used in 2004, an email I used in 2002/2003, and the last 4 of my social. At first I was thinking my ex used my info. But I told her I was going to talk to my husband and she kept pressing that I had to call her back within 24 hours. Of course my hormones are all over so by the time I get off the phone I'm bawling in the PetSmart parking lot. But I gathered it together. And we went inside. I did let Paul know what happened, but we both came to the conclusion it was a scam. He found an online article about it on cnbc and I found it later on the FTC website. Also I realized after I got off the phone that this has never shown up on my credit report which it would have. I'm so glad that while I was hormonal, I wasn't stupid. I did not give this lady any information other than confirming it was an old address and old email. I requested her name, phone number, and other info. I'm sure it's a fake name, but I documented this thoroughly on my computer and filed a complaint with the attorney generals office and FTC. I also r(e)applied to have my number on the Do Not Call Registry. I've also never received anything in writing. When I asked her about that, she said it was sent to the address on file. If they call back, I'm trying to decide if I should just ignore it or answer and ask for everything in writing. If they say they will send it in writing, I hesitate to give them any current information.

Do not answer the call. You can report it to the BBB too. I'm glad you were able to keep it together and not let them scam you.

It was a rough hour or so from when I talked to her to when I finished reporting everything. Then I finally felt better. But I can see why people would be taken in by it. They do have so much of your information. If it does turn out to be valid. We will still be fighting it as it would be a case of someone using my identity to do it. I never did.
