Re: QOTD 5/20

  • Haha...NO! Roughing it is not my idea of a vacation. I went camping once or twice as a kid with my friend's family...I didn't find it to be enjoyable then either LOL.

  • Nope. My family went occasionally growing up and my mom took us a few times when I was a teenager but I don't really enjoy it.  DH loves camping and wants us to go sometime but he likes sites where you have to portage to get there and I hate water...so no.

  • No, nope, not gonna happen. It's just not my thing.

  • I used to go camping but ever since I went to an all inclusive with DH, I don't think I could sleep on the ground ever again.

  • I don't mind it. Haven't gone in like eight years though.

  • I keep trying to get D to take me "glamour camping" but he says it's for squares...

  • Camping requires lots of alcohol. I used to camp a lot in my early 20s.
Wait does sleeping in a goat barn at fairs count as camping? I do that without a problem.
  • Never done it. I'd try it, but I don't think it'll be my thing.

Nope.  I am not the outdoors type.  I don't like sleeping on the floors.  Don't tell me camp sites have bathrooms.  If it's not connected to my room, that doesn't count as a bathroom.

I'm with @minionlover.  I've been spoiled by all inclusives.

My parents used to own land in upstate NY.  My dad would camp there.  He was taking my brother and going with a bunch of his friends and their children when I was about 4.  I begged to go.  My mom told me repeatedly that she and no other women/girls were going and I would be the only one.  She told me what to expect, I didn't believe her.  I came back with the biggest knots in my hair ever because my dad didn't brush my hair for the entire weekend.  I walked into our house and declared there was no running water and I will never go camping again.  I never have.
