T & P

Tomorrow morning is my surgery. I'd appreciate some T&P from my girls! I'm definitely nervous. I'm about to go take my nighttime meds and an anti-anxiety pill and try to get some sleep. I'll update you ladies when I can!

  • Seriously, look into renting a knee scooter (or buying depending on how long you're going to use it...Amazon has them). That was such a life saver! Although, you need to use your non-surgery foot to push the scooter (so I'll assume that you only had 1 done at a time?).

Also, we bought a shower seat and a suction cup grab bar for the shower off of Amazon. I'm still using those because I don't think I'm stable enough to shower without them.

I have the prescription for the knee scooter! I sent them the info last week because they needed pre-auth from my insurance before they could order me one. I called this morning after surgery and they have one in now, but my insurance said they wouldn't accept the picture I sent of the prescription, so H had to go take it down there. I have to wait a few more days for the pre-auth before I can go get it. So in the meantime, it's crutches.

I might want to look into the seat and bar for shower since I'll be like this for 6 weeks and then have to do the other one. :-/

  • At least your insurance covers the scooter! We rented mine...it was only about $100, but we had to pay out of pocket. The shower seat and grab bar are life savers....literally! I would have broken something else without them, haha!

I called my crutches Death Sticks! OMG, I was terrible on them! H kept having me watch You Tube crutches tutorials...they were a joke. These people clearly weren't broken and were using the crutches in a very controlled physical therapy environment. There was only one video that was helpful, it was this guy who was actually broken (he actually used the words Death Sticks, haha!). I'll see if I can find that video again.
