New car!
We have been saving to upgrade to a newer Ford Focus. I went car shopping with my mom Thursday while H took the current car to NH to visit his family. I couldn't find anything decent in the 10k price range and H and I decided to save more money and revisit the idea in the winter. Our current car seemed okay and we didn't want to dip into the e-fund. Last night the car started shaking pretty violently when stopped or parked. This morning we were worried the poor thing wouldn't make it back to Maine let alone be able to handle the trip we have planned to MA next week. The hunt was on again and I was looking at any car for 10k. We still weren't having much luck. We don't want a car we will need to replace soon, or one that wont fit everything we may need, baby gear and hockey gear take up a lot of space for tournaments out of town. So the cheap Ford Fiesta was a bust.
Eventually we broke into the e-fund and got a 2012 Mazda 6 for $11,750. I haven't registered it so we are assuming that we will be rounding the final cost off at $12,500. It was $2,500 over budget but I love the car and it is my favorite shade of blue! We will build the E-Fund back up and hopefully find someone to buy my old car to help.
