Sharp Objects (spoilers!)

So, I saw it coming a mile away.  All of it.  Ama killed the girls, Adora slowly killed the sister and was poisoning Ama, the teeth were in the dollhouse, the whole thing.  I think a lot of you guys said that too, right?

But still, I loved watching it all play out.  What a great book.  It's not often that I can have a mystery all figured out but still enjoy it so much.  She's a fantastic writer.  Has anyone heard any rumors about another book from her?  I checked her website, but there was nothing there.

I think Dark Places is still my favorite of hers (I didn't see that one coming AT ALL), and while Gone Girl drove me insane, I hated the characters all so much, I think I'm coming around - it was a good book.

  • I am awful at predicting endings, but I figured this one out. I enjoyed it, but like you, Dark Places is my favorite of hers as well.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

I agree with all of these things.
