Darn scammer people


So the scam that I told you about a month ago - they have still been calling weekly.  It's an automated number dialer that leaves an automated message.  Although about two weeks ago I actually had the lady I originally talked to call me back from an OK number asking me to call her back on a KS number.  The automated number is also now calling P's cell phone and my parent's house.  So the lady calls me this morning from the OK number.  I answered, before I could tell her that I knew it was a scam and to not call me back, she hung up on me.  Because I said "let me just say... (she hung up)" after refusing to give her any personal information.  So that was at about 8:30 am.  At 11:30am the automated number from AR calls me.  I answer, it directs me to a secretary who won't tell me anything.  She transfers me to the same lady I talked to this morning.  I was able to tell her that I know it's a scam, I've reported them, and I would like them to stop calling me, P, and my parents.  I had to talk over her because she got really rude and started saying I need to stop calling them and that I need counseling.  I was able to remain calm due to my years working cell phone tech support but I seriously wanted to go off on this lady and call her some not nice names.  As I was finally able to ask them to stop calling me, I felt comfortable blocking all three of the numbers they have used to contact me.  At this point I have filed complaints with several offices and also told these people to stop calling me. 

Just made my Monday not a great day.  And now I'm working a shift this afternoon/evening.  Bleh.  Hope everyone else's Monday was better than mine.

  • I'm so sorry they've been continuing to harass you like that. That is so terrible. Did you report them to the Better Business Bureau? I hope your day got better.

  • That is actually one company I not reported them too.  I will look into it.  I have reported them to my state's attorney generals office and at their advice also reported to the FTC, and two other internet scam agencies.  They provided me with the contact information for all of them.  But the attorney general's office also said there isn't much they can do with just a company name and phone number.  They just advised me to not give in to any threats and file complaints with the other agencies.
