WWII rec ?: The rise and fall of the Third Reich (sp)

I feel like this was recommended here, but I wanted to make sure before I requested it from the library. It's an extensive book, so I want to make sure it's right! Has anyone read it? The reviews are awesome. Also, I know it's going to be a tough read, emotionally. Typically, I'm not squeamish, but is this something that would be extra horrible? The answer is probably yes, but I'm not sure if it's worse that most WWII non fiction.

It's on my list, but I haven't read it yet. I'm kind of on a WWII kick right now, so if you're looking for more, try When Books Went to War by Molly Guptill Manning and Ravensbruck by Sarah Helm. The first is really inspiring and more about soldiers and how we used books to support them during the war. Ravensbruck is more difficult to read and does have information about some of the medical experimentation that falls into the more horrible side of things. But it's amazingly detailed and gives a great overview of what was happening in Germany.
