QOTD 6/18

What is the best hotel that you have ever stayed at?

Re: QOTD 6/18

  • My favorite is the southernmost in Key West (going back in Sept!!!)  but the swankiest was the Casa Marina in Key West

  • The hotel in Venice on our Italian honeymoon was AMAZING! They gave us this huge honeymoon suite, complete with a rooftop deck. The hotel was literally about 5 steps from St. Mark's Square. If we weren't on a tour, there was no way that we could afford that room on our own!

  • The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs

  • Two are coming to mind. Both are based more on decorations than anything else.

One was the Hotel Edison in New York City. We stayed here when my mom, aunt and I went to NYC on vacation during Christmas when I was in middle school. I just remember falling in love with the decorations and the fact that they had a talking elevator. (It would open, announce the floor and acknowledge which direction it was going into--i.e. "Third floor, going up!")
Plus, it was located up the road from the first Starbucks I ever went to. Couldn't complain there.

The second one is the Eldora Lodge in Wondervu, Colorado.
We stayed here since it's near the house of a friend of my dad's. I am a sucker for cabin style decorations.

A close runner up would be one of the times I stayed at a Doubletree. Mostly because I like free cookies.

  • I loved the B&B we stays in western MD, Deep Creek Lake.  I want to go back for our anniversary, but it's 4 hours away.

Opryland Hotel. It's in Nashville where I grew up. It's absolutely enormous, it has 3 "sections" that are like little cities and gardens. We used to go almost every year to walk around and enjoy the Christmas lights. I finally got to stay there when I went with my MIL and SIL to see Wicked.

  • Either Sandals in Antigua where we honeymooned or the Palazzo in Las Vegas.  They were both equally spectacular.
